Hi Avi - reading the CR argument :

(1) Dont understand the significance of the word "Although" [very first word] in the 1st sentence.

Cant 'Although' be completely dropped ? In fact, i think it makes MORE sense for the word "Although" to be dropped.

2nd attempt -- no makes sense to keep "although"

(2) On first read - didnt understand the phrase 'artistic intention of composers'

If so, would you recommend guessing immediately on the exam when you come across these kinds of difficult phrases ?

(3) I guessed it meant "goal of composers" - but i didnt know why the "Goal of the composer" was important to understand to begin with. I dont have any interest in arts / painting / music lol

The strongest basis for arguing that the implementation of the recommendation will not lead to the desired result is:

B. Traditional education facilitates the appreciation of visual art, but not the recognition of the artistic intentions of artists.

This option suggests that even with traditional instruction in visual art, people may still struggle to recognize the artistic intentions of artists. Therefore, it implies that teaching elementary school students to compose music may not necessarily improve their ability to understand and recognize the artistic intention of composers. The lack of a parallel result in visual art education weakens the argument that introducing music composition instruction will effectively address the issue.

another absurd question.
Quote:
Although elementary school children have traditionally received considerable instruction in creating visual art, there has been no such instruction in music. Consequently, in contrast to the situation for visual art, most people as adults do not recognize the artistic intention of composers.
"in contrast to" strongly implies that adults DO recognize the artistic intention of painters and all thank for the education of creating visual art they received in school.

but the OA tells us that the education DOES NOT facilitate the recognition of artists intentions and thus adults CANNOT recognize those intentions.
