How helpful is it to have an Alumni write to bschools?
Stern has a "Refer a Friend" system that encourages Alumni to write to the school on behalf of a prospective student.

it really depends on the school. I've heard Wharton likes it when alums refer candidates, but places like Haas and Stanford do not really care. It really depends on the school you're applying to.

I've heard that Kellogg looks positively on Alumni and even Student letters on your behalf.
