Please give me some hope:)
Nationality/Gender: Turkish Male
Age: 33 (1985)
WE: 8,5 years + 1,7 years Teaching Assistant (5 Semesters)
GMAT: 660 (Q49, V30, IR4, AWA5) - Prepared just 20 days, did not know anything about the exam before then, I believe I can hit 700+ if I study hard for a month. (Low IR is due to the loss of motivation during exam when I felt verbal was not going well)
GRE: 165 Quant, skipped other parts because my company only demands quant score
TOEFL: 104 Overall (R:29,L:26,S:24,W:25)
Undergrad: Turkey/Above Average University (But not one of the top 5) - Industrial Engineering GPA:2,69 (Different system, but too low I know) / 2004-2008
2. Underground: Turkey/Distant-Open Education in above average university - Economics GPA:3,06 (All courses are A+ or A in last two years) / 2009-2015 (2 years delay due to military service)
Master: Turkey/ Above average university/ Teaching Assistant and full scholarship despite low Undergrad GPA/ Gave all the lectures and thesis seminar but could not write the thesis, so could not graduate - GPA:3.38 (I could not write thesis because I started a new job, my subject was something very complicated and my prof left the university. Such thin excuses)
Work Ex:
- 1,5 years in a big commercial Bank in Turkey - Specialist in Risk Management (Market Risk and Operational Risk)
- 3 years in a Governmental Institution (Regional Development Agency) - Investment Support Consultant, attract Foreign Direct Investment(FDI) to the region on the purpose of reducing regional development disparities
- 4 years in the Central Bank of Republic of Turkey - Human Resources Specialist (Performance and Talent Management)
Target Schools: Fuqua and USNews 15th-20th (Cornell, UCLA, Tepper, McCombs, Kenan Flagler, Emory) Especially Kenan Flagler
Pros: - Every year my company selects and sends limited number of employees for overseas education (a tough procedure for candidates to get a place). This year I will be one of them, so all my tuition and living expenses will be covered by the company. Maybe important/impressing for AdCom.
- In previous jobs I did some good stuff which, I believe, can impress AdCom such as raising awareness in a city in a certain topic, attracting big FDI from Gulf countries, implementing totally new systems throughout the company etc.
- Not many candidates apply from my country
Cons: -Age, Low GPA, Not finishing master, relatively low GMAT (but I believe I can do better in retake, so please think as if I had 700)
-My company only allows to attend schools which rank in top 20
So what do you suggest me? To give up MBA and try some Human Resource/Management Information Master Programs? Or to focus on GMAT and get 730+?
Thanks in advance.
