Hi
dalpat9856 ..
Welcome to Gmatclub.
AnirudhaS has given you a good advice and I would like to give mine
'' Am I over-aged/over experienced for MBA? Should I think of MBA or not? '' - Yes/No (both
, do not worry)
When you have both Yes/No condition, you need to make a realistic plan for all the options available in reaching your goal. Some of the options can be:
1. MBA/EMBA/Online courses - You need to decide which option suits you best. MBA can widen scope of changing industry/function/geography and IF lucky - All three
. EMBA will give you a push in your current job, can extend your knowledge for the business part and other management except IT. There are thousands of Online courses available to choose but will have negligible effect. My suggestions will be either from MBA/EMBA.
2. Duration: You must concentrate on 1 year MBA programs only
3. Location: US will be tough but you can target 1 yr MBA programs such as Mendoza, Marshall, Cornell. In Europe you have plenty options: Manchester, HEC, IMD, Judge, etc. Most of the European programs have 29 years of average age. So, you will be on higher end. In India, you can target IIM - A, B, C
4. Goals: You need to define your goals clearly. Growing up in the ladder is generic. You should know what you want to do? For ex. To get on business front, or stay in Technical function, etc, etc. What companies you want to target and why...
There are many other suggestions but need your input first. So, relax and think for some days/weeks to know what you want and decide what's best for you. if AGE was the only thing you were worrying about, I can assure you to forget it. Age matters but you are not that much old. All the best
