Hi! Can someone help explain why option B is correct? Is option B correct because of the word "but"?
If someone can verify this:
- The phrase: "but typically the appearance of such facts is the result of a search in a definite direction" suggests there is deliberation in doing what is needed to find a result.
- So the phrase before the "but" ("An investigation that is _________ can occasionally yield new facts, even notable ones") indicates the opposite of deliberate efforts - so the answer in this case would be option B (unguided)?
