I'm a CPA so I don't need much help with Excel or Accounting. My hubby with his MA in econ and working on his Ph.D. in Health Policy and Management assures me he can teach me all the stat/math. I don't think I'll be taking any of the review classes.

Which Round?
I met Dylan yesterday and he mentioned - he's working on the wait-list candidates - and trying to see if he can convert them to 'admits'..
also mentioned about putting together the denial letters..

Gud Luck.

I received notice that I was placed on the wait list this morning (R4 applicant).

Can anyone comment on when the wait list candidates are admitted or denied - does the list stay active until just before classes begin?

I have been waitlisted for UCLA (found out on the 21st), however, I was just admitted to USC!

I'm not sure yet when I have to commit to USC, but UCLA is my first choice! How long should I wait? Any idea when they will make decisions about the waitlist?

The refresher course for Excel really isn't needed, I'd recommend saving your money. Anything you do in Excel for Stats and Finance the first year, the prof. will go over in detail. For Math and Stats, very very few people from my section took those, and those that did, they said there was a lot of repetition in that the prof. goes over it in the first weeks.

Dear FEMBA applicants,

Thank you for your time in advance.

I am planning to apply for the 2013 FEMBA program, and my profile is as follows ...

GMAT:
650 (77 percentile)
Q 47 (79 percentile)
V 32 (63 percentile)

Bachelors in Technology (A University in India) (Electrical Engineering) - First class with distinction (77%)
Master of Science (US University) (Electrical Engineer) - 3.2 cumulative and 3.5 Major GPA

Excellent community / leadership activities (over 4 years)

6 years Work experience as Design Engineer, currently a Lead Design Engineer.

I attended the Open House at Anderson this past weekend and was pretty impressed with the overall program. But talking to various folks during my class visit and open house, I got a feeling that my GMAT is low to make the cut. I wanted to ask the folks in this forum, what they think. Where can I bolster my profile? What should I project more in my essays / interview?

Do I even stand a chance is obviously my first question :)

Thanks again!

Hello! I'm a first year FEMBA who was at that open house too! In regards to your GMAT score, the middle 80% (according to BW) is in the 640-730 range. If you have the time to work on your verbal, it will help because you will be writing a lot. I know the admissions staff likes to emphasize that you shouldn't try to skew your application to fit what you think is the "ideal" profile. Make sure your tell *your* story, because if you try to conform your application too much, it will be obvious. Really drill down regarding what you want to do with your MBA. If you have any specific questions about the admissions process please don't hesitate to PM me!

While I'm not in the UCLA FEMBA program, I would imagine the program is similar to Berkeley's EWMBA program with regard to student demographics. At Haas, we're definitely over represented with male Indian engineers. Many of the male Indian engineers in the program are incredibly smart and scored near the very top of the school's GMAT range. If you're leading a team (not really sure based on your post), you may be able to score slightly lower than an individual contributor, however, a 650 will likely still be too low for your demographic. I really think you should target 700+ to make yourself more competitive (many people are rejected with 700+ so it's no guarantee). Good luck!
