I would take the $100K scholarship at Anderson. That's a lot of money and with some hard work and focus you should be well-positioned to land a job as a tech PM. The school you go to can only help SO much. Haas is a fantastic program but I would argue the delta isn't that large with UCLA Anderson. You still need to stand on your own legs, interview well and network your butt off to get those jobs. Since both are on the West Coast, you aren't really at a geographic disadvantage.

I don't the extent of your profile so I can't definitively say if you should pass on $100K at Anderson to take a shot at Kellogg and Stanford. It's unlikely that it's worth it given the selectivity of those two programs.

Thank you for the answer. I am taking opinion from as many sources as possible to take a well rounded decision.

Since they give scholarship, I am planning to spend my savings on my startup to develop myself for PM and entrepreneurship path. Hope that works out well

Anderson is pretty good for Tech. As you rightly mentioned the location factor, it could serve as a great networking option being around LA and close to Silicon Valley in general. Plus the $$$ you're getting :)
As someone already pointed out, unless you have a some sort of spike in your app for next year, it wouldn't make sense to be an immediate reapplicant imo. I would say don't get too carried away by rankings in general. It's best to speak with current students recruiting for tech to get a sense of what options are available to them.

Understood; in my case, I could not try Top10 college (I thought I could leverage my GMAT score) except Haas and MIT. But, I am in parallel developing skills for PM and networking.

I’m really confused. I got into Anderson this year. Im really not sure what to make of the school basis rankings, though the location is great for me. I led a startup in the arts space and my eventual goal is to get into tech. Is Anderson a good choice or should I just apply next year again? I got rejected at the M7s in R2 this year so not sure how that Would work for a reapplicant immediately.

Hello Ath96,

UCLA is a great admit (especially considering your goals) and we wouldn't recommend that you give up on the same. Admissions to the M7s cannot be relied upon and since you've already been rejected once, you'll really have to put forth a very strong re-applicant essay.

Good luck!
