Don't get disheartened buddy...I am in the same ding-boat as you. Ask schools for feedback, talk to successful candidates about their essays/interviews etc. and figure out what went wrong. Next years app's are just a few months away so start working towards getting solid goals/why Mba essays.

I don't think there is next year. I am so disheartened that I guess I need to sort some things out. I need to reassess myself and if I am good enough to get into a good b-school.

Hey man, don't doubt yourself. Anyone that got the gmat you got is certainly good enough for business school. I have a friend who's in a similar boat, applied to 7 schools, got dinged from all of them, but one of the smart guys I know.

This whole process is subjective, re-evaluate your career goals, essays, work experience, and community service / leadership. There's no reason why you can't reapply and get in.

Don't lose heart and good luck!

Have anyone asked/ considered asking UT for scholarship. I have some scholarship from another shcool at par with Mccombs but none from UT. Can I raise this point if so , how do I do it??

However you do it you need to make sure you are committed to attending the program if McCombs matches any other offer. You need to mention that you got accepted somewhere else, you received money, and you really want to attend McCombs and you are willing to submit your deposit ASAP if they can offer money. Not those words exactly but you should be prepared to commit. Don't ask for money if you think you will not attend.

It seems like forever since I applied and interviewed with Texas. So far I am up to 11 weeks. Since my interview, I haven't heard a peep.

Has anyone who had the March 15th deposit deadline heard about scholarships, either yes or no? All is quiet over here, and I wasn't sure if that meant I was not offered a scholarship, or if they have not made their decisions yet. Thanks!

If you go back a page in this forum, you'll see this very helpful post from wassabisai, which answers your question. :)

I heard about my scholarship a week before my March 15th deadline.

I've exchanged a few emails with McCombs AdCom. One person mentioned that if you don't hear back before your deadline, you can assume that you didn't receive any scholarships. Another person I spoke to mentioned that it is possible for you to receive scholarships after the deadline, but it's less common.

Some lucky bugger got an acceptance phone call yesterday morning around 11:00am. I was in their office speaking to a MAC student member when I heard an adm director make the call.

I applied on Jan 14th with only several hours before the deadline, haven't heard back for an interview yet.

I got interviews to all 6 of my other schools (Booth, Anderson, Kellogg, Tepper, Ross, and Fuqua), but not McCombs. Do you guys think they still have R2 invites to send out?

A follow up on this...

I have heard back from all schools getting into 4 out of 6 of them...and still not even an interview request from Texas...strange. Not that it matters at this point, but anyone have similar experiences?

Yeah, same here....interviews everywhere else...nothing from McCombs....

I called last week and they said not to be discouraged (yeah right) b/c the invite can come anytime in the 10-12 week period...

Ditto here. It is downright strange. It's been 10 weeks since I applied, and still not a word. I don't even feel like calling them up and listening to the same '10-12 weeks' story.

At least I'm not alone in the forever waiting pool. I interviewed in late February, but it's been over a month since that time and I haven't heard anything. Every other school has gotten back to me.
