I was accepted on Friday. Gonna go check out the admit day this coming friday. Just curious - for all the other admits, how long did it take for you to hear back regarding any fellowships or scholarships. The person from the admissions office who called me mentioned that it would come separately. Unfortunately deposit deadline for USC is at the end of the week. Decisions decisions.....

Ding.

For those who are interested, I applied on April 1st. I got an interview invite on the 6th. Interviewed in Austin on the 18th. The final decision came today via email.

Edit 2: Sorry about your ding.

WTF. I applied in January 15th, interviewed early March, and haven't heard a peep since. I guess it's good news that they haven't dinged me yet, but sure doesn't seem like they're living up to the first come first serve schedule they promise.

Edit: just got off of the phone with them. It was a current student - he said that the committee is severely backlogged and that they're processing everything as fast as they can. Guess I'll keep waiting.

An absolutely joke of an admission process. Maybe if more and more people tell them they are going elsewhere because of the carnage, they would work on changing things.

Well, I think you made the right decision to go to Booth over McCombs...I have been very turned off by their process and feel it is somewhat indicative of the program. They seem very disorganized compared to the other schools I applied to. And that's why I'm not going to go to Texas...sad because it was my number 1 when I began my applications.

That is wild that you are just now getting an interview request. That said, my experience from having gone to graduate school before is that the admissions department has no bearing on the actual school. People say that McCombs has an outstanding career services department which is what really matters. No doubt, Booth is a great school, but you'd be able to play a lot more golf game if you went to Texas. :)

Especially coming from San Diego the weather at Booth will definitely be an "ouch"

From my experience, admissions and actual school experience have no correlation. But keeping people waiting around isn't nice.

Interviewed on April 1st and learned of my acceptance this week. From what I understand, four weeks is pretty standard for a decision to be made after the personal interview. However, I am in the McCombs DFW program....
