It's just a suggested deadline. From observing McCombs AdCom behavior, it seems that the lag time between submission and decision for R1 folks are shorter than R2. This may mean that during R2, the open spots are getting more crowded, thus AdCom are weighing the admit decisions more carefully (thus potentially more difficult to gain acceptance). But it's all speculations.

Just applied! I sent my app in last Weds and now I'm all paid up, plus they've attached my official transcipt and GMAT scores to my application.

Website says "Your file has been forwarded to the Graduate Committee for review."

Any idea how long it generally is between applying and when one hears about an interview?

I would guess that it will be pretty soon since you're applying so early.

I've submitted and the system shows that it has received everything needed for the application (application, payment of fee, GMAT, and transcript). I'm concerned because it also still says, "Our records indicate that we're missing the documents listed below. If we do not receive these documents by the application deadline, we cannot make a decision regarding your application."

Has anyone else seen this?

I've submitted and the system shows that it has received everything needed for the application (application, payment of fee, GMAT, and transcript). I'm concerned because it also still says, "Our records indicate that we're missing the documents listed below. If we do not receive these documents by the application deadline, we cannot make a decision regarding your application."

Mine still has all that but at the top it says that my file "has been forwarded to the Graduate Committee for review."

I know they're using a new online application system this year, maybe it's a little buggy still?

My application was complete as of mid-October. Have not heard anything yet. Was told by adcom that interview invitations typically come within 2-4 weeks. I know they were super prompt last year though.

Did you hear back from them? Have you guys sent in official transcripts? It seems like that's a completely separate process. Combine that with waiting a couple of days to pay, and you have a pretty sloppy application.

Also, I submitted last night, but I'm trying to figure out the official transcript issue.

I emailed the adcom on Weds and haven't heard back yet. I will let you all know when I do!

I did get my transcript submitted, thankfully I caught that when I was first working on the app. It did take them about 2-3 business days to attach it to my application (it arrived before I submitted my app). If you make sure to send it to the address they give you for sending transcripts (the main Graduate program office I think), you should be fine.

I do agree that it is frustrating to turn the app in and then have to wait to pay and for the official transcript to be sent and connected...

I am having the same problem with the "our records indicate the following items are still missing" with nothing marked as missing in the table below. I sent in an email on Friday (should've done it earlier in the week but it didn't occur to me), and got a response this morning.

They said my file has been forwarded to the committee for review, and that the new system still has a couple bugs. I just logged in to check my application and the blue box that says "Your file has been forwarded to the Graduate Committee for review" just appeared this morning. So, if you are having a similar problem and you don't see the notice that says your file has been forwarded, it doesn't hurt to contact them, I suppose. Better safe than sorry when it's a technical issue.

Thanks for the info! That's good to know.

I emailed using a web form and it may not have gone through... it reset while I was doing it and I thought it went through, but now I'm thinking not. :)
