UNC's deposit is on the high end though. $2,500 (it's early action). Still, look at it this way: if the tuitions were $2,500 apart, cost might not even factor into your decision.

Net Impact is an organization focused on using business to benefit society and social welfare through non-profits, sustainable business practices, micro-finance, etc. McCombs has a chapter, and there's a link under MBA Student Organizations.

Hey buddy, Kudos and Thanks for the clarification. It does not mention clearly that they engage in non profit activities. It sort of hints slights but not explicitly.

I called back and asked to speak with any admissions officer in the office today. The receptionist put me through to someone's voicemail, indicating that nobody would be there except for a minimal amount of people until next year. I'm thinking that Sharon's call on Friday was positive, and it would just be great to know that for sure. It's very unfortunate I missed her.

I'm still waiting to hear from them about an interview, although at this point I'm wondering if it's just a ding that I'll find out about. Although I submitted my online application on 10/31, there were some issues with my transcripts etc and they weren't received till 11/8.

I've yet to hear anything from them interview or ding....so nerve racking...! I'm wondering if I'll even hear this year.

this is weird....usually adcoms dont call applicants until the final decision....if u still havent got an interview invite and yet got a phone call from the adcom, then chances are that there is some other technical issue....it would mostly not be a ding coz for rejected applicants, adcoms dont waste any time and money and simply email them....

so far ive never heard about the adcom personally calling an application to ding them.... so relax.. :)

Hi kushagra,

well, ive had 3 alum interviews so far and they have all been face to face. If you belong to a city that has many alums, then chances are that you'll get a face to face alum interview. In case that you cannot schedule a face to face interview with an alum in your city, you most probably will have to go to a different city for a face to face interview or you will have a telephonic or skype interview with the adcom or a current student. Face to face interviews are always preferred by the committee, so you'll usually be pushed towards that by the school. But all this depends from school to school.

My situation was interesting as well. I sent in my application on November 28, and I received an interview invite 2 days later (before even having the chance to pay my application fee). I honestly have no idea what that even means. It seems like there is no exact pattern to this.
Happened the same thing to me. Applied on 15th NOV, int invite on 18th and interviewed on the 1st of December. All the best.

Congrats! Did they mention anything about scholarships? Do you know which one you are going to pick or are leaning toward UT or UNC? Also, when is your UT deposit due?

does your status check on the website change after you have been accepted i was interviewed on 12/3 getting worried now. How do ding's come out for ut?

They said my status wouldn't change to "accepted" until after the new year, so I would assume that's when most dings/waitlists will be communicated as well. Regardless, I believe the admissions blog mentioned the majority of decisions will be released after they return from break. I wouldn't stress about not hearing from them yet.
