Did you apply first or second round? I had my interview late December.

Did you receive an interview? How do you know you got dinged? Via email?

Got an email saying "Your application for Texas Full Time MBA: Austin has been given a decision. Please log in to the application website to see it."

logged on top the website, and it says "After careful consideration of your application, the admission committee is unable to offer you admission to the Texas MBA this year. Due to the competitive nature of the program we are unable to provide personalized feedback on the specific reasons why the committee arrived at this decision."

I wouldn't be too worried about your situation considering you have a 770 gmat score. You are guaranteed into one of the m7 schools at some point in the near future (unless you have already been admitted). If I wish to pursue a career in management strategy, (i would like to do 2 years of management consulting at one of the top 5 firms) and then move on to the client side, would it be wise to attend McCombs? Or just try to strengthen my application and keeping trying for a better school?
m7 schools?? what are those??

Has anyone who applied AFTER the round 1 deadline heard back yet? I submitted on Nov 24 and my interview was on December 7th. I have not heard anything yet....

Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Columbia, Chicago, NW, Dartmouth, MIT

I disagree with the gmat-score-guarantee argument. It certainly will help you stand out, but nothing is guaranteed at any school (or set of schools) within the top 20. Outside of the top 20, perhaps, but certainly not the M7.

Plasticplants, why do you say that one would be much happier at McCombs? This is not in anyway a knock on the program, but I was just curious of your opinion on the program and what you plan to focus on in the program?

I interviewed November 22nd and have not heard anything since, one way or the other. I am committing to Rice today, which I am happy to do since they offered me nearly a full ride. Still, I would be lying if I said I wasn't really hoping to hear back from Texas before having to make this decision. Disappointing.

Rice is still a strong program and the full ride is fantastic. Definitely not a bad deal either way.

Is there any sort of deadline for this "rolling" admissions for them to get back to round 1 applicants? It seems like quite a few people are deciding on other schools having not heard back...
