Hi All,
I plan to apply in R1 for a 2016 intake. However, before I apply, I would like to visit some campuses. It appears that most of schools don't have any classes in the summer, and therefore, it is pointless to visit them. With that being said, I don't think I'll have time to visit the schools before I apply for R1. So I was wondering, what are my options.

I'm applying for R1 in 2016 too. Even though there aren't classes, I still think it can be useful to visit the campus, talk to the admissions folk and meet students.

See if the school is having any information sessions or open days and attend those - it gives you a chance to see the school and also they will register that you've been to see them.
Even if they are during breaks - they will often get alumni or current students to do a brief panel discussion for prospective students.Its definitely worth trying to connect with the schools as much as you physically can as they will give you little nuggets of information that can help your application. A couple of the schools i applied to stressed the qualities they wanted to see in essays etc which made writing them a lot easier as knew I was giving them the evidence they needed to put me forward for interviews.
