Hi All

Just thought to have a thread for the people applying to the Indian B schools for the class of 2014.

Lets pour in ideas, share information & thoughts, and mutually enrich/help each other !!

Little about me :

GMAT : 760
Work Exp : 5.5 years
Applied to ISB last year in Cycle 2 : Got the interview call but then got 'Dinged'

It would be great if people can share their experiences (pass/fail) through previous applications, if any.
Nonetheless, lets come up with a game plan for 2014

surprising and shocking to see u dinged from ISB with 760.

I am planning for a 1 year from either of ISB, A,B or C but have just a 700 GMAT.

not quite sure about my prospects...

I am a doctor.I am working with AIIMS as a senior resident in forensic medicine( although now i have shifted to Clinical research industry).Also I am a content writer.started a social enterprise at AIIMs

whoa .. you have a nice and distinct profile! with this GMAT score and profile you should be irresistible to B schools.

now I assume that there are chances that you didn't articulate your long/short term goals very well (assumption)
for instance. Why do u want to do an MBA? why after medicine? where do u see urself 10 years from now?

But guys,
i think we should learn that there is no limits to improvement
Now ISB has asked for a video also.
so i think all of us should start brainstorming so that we can have enough time for reviews
If anyone one of you have started writing essays and wanna share the ideas..u are welcome

yep... just checked out the video requirements..

perhaps to filter out inefficient communicators at the beginning.

Has anybody submitted their essays already? I have an IT background and a not good GMAT score so my essays have to be rocking. Would be great if anybody could share their essay writing ideas - dos and don't s? I found this one website saying that for the first ISB essay don't mention any achievement in IT if you have an IT background. While I understand that this might be to differentiate oneself from others, but at the same time an IT professional should have excellence in IT itself given that most applicants have less than 10 yrs of work ex. We have to be honest in our essays and at the same time highlight something unrelated to our core area has confused me!!!

I have a GMAT score of 720 (Q50, V37) with following other details
Industry : Software Product development with a renowned MNC
Work Ex: 9 yrs (by the time I join)
Acads: Decent
Extra Curricular: Decent

I wish to continue with the field of technology.

My top choices are ISB and IIMs offering one year executive MBA

It will be really helpful if someone can suggest me what are my chances of getting a call?

This is Siddharth, I am an IT professional working in a big MNC with diverse experience and have for the last 4.5 years ,I have a gmat Score of 700(Q49,V35) and would like to know what my chances are , I have ok gpa and grades for std 10 and 12 not anything extraordinary,I do have some extracuriculars aswell.
