Kellogg’s Round 2 deadline is January 6, 2027, which gives applicants some time, but it’s worth starting now if you haven’t already.
One thing that can be tricky with Kellogg is making the application feel like a coherent picture of you, rather than a collection of good achievements.
Before getting too far into the essays, spend some time thinking about:
• Your career direction: What do you actually want to do after the MBA, and why does that make sense given your past experience?
• Your impact: Which experiences show how you lead, work with others, solve problems or create change? Your resume shouldn't just be a list of responsibilities.
• Why Kellogg: Beyond saying you like the collaborative culture, what specific aspects of Kellogg connect with your goals and interests?
• Your recommendations: Give your recommenders enough time and context to provide specific examples rather than generic praise.
• The overall story: Your resume, essays and recommendations should complement each other. If every part of the application tells the same story, you're probably leaving something on the table.
And don't underestimate the time needed to figure out the story and positioning before you start polishing sentences.
We’re hosting a
Live Coffee Session where we’ll go through a practical 12-week roadmap for
R2 MBA applications, including school selection, test scores, career story, resume, essays, recommendations and final application review.
