Since they are from the official GMAC they are worth practicing.

Hi Darioss,
1000 series is not reliable as few of the answers are wrong.
I did not find this at all useful.
Better you should rely on other data available on gclub

Thank you very much, i also found some questions from old gmat paper tests, are those bad too?
The questions should be fine. In fact, I like the verbal questions in those tests. Maths is very easy, but verbal should be good for practice.

Do NOT USE 1000 series (any of them) - they are very poor quality (some of the correct choices are actually incorrect).

Stick to OG Review, OG Verbal Review, (going back the last 2 decades), GMAT Prep only.
If you have exhausted then go back and review all the ones you got wrong.

GMAC spends approx $3000 to make 1 question. The quality is second to none.

Been wondering about this as well. What are the sources of these "1000 series" questions? Specifically for RC. Worth doing?

The 1000 RC's are a collection of questions from GMAT Prep, old OG's, LSAT, and a few random sources. Most of these questions have been released and are available in other more organized sources.

There is no value in doing them per se vs. other quality materials.

Thanks bb. If some of them are from GMAT Prep and old OG's, why do you say that it is of no value compared to other quality materials? Reason I am asking is because I have exhausted official RC passages and looking for alternatives.

Hello Everyone,

I'm studying for my gmat exam and I wanted to know if 1000 series are good questions' examples. I saw that those files are 10 years old therefore I'm a bit worried about their reliability.

Many questions in 1000 series doc are from old OG's, paper tests, etc. So, I'd say those questions are OK.

You can find the questions in the links below:

Hi soondoobu,

We last discussed your studies a little over a month ago. From your recent ESR, it was clear that RC was an area that you needed to work on - but it was not the only area. Have you taken any new CATs/mocks over the last 5 weeks? If you did, then how did you Score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each of those CATs)?

If you're still having issues with RC, then working through lots of additional RC prompts is probably not the 'solution' that you're looking for. Since you took your first Official GMAT over a year ago, your issues with RC likely go all the way back to your initial studies - and we need to directly address those issues before you go churning through lots of additional RC prompts.

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

Hi EMPOWERgmatRichC,

Many thanks for checking in. I appreciate it. The only test I took over the last 5 weeks was from Veritas Prep on 8/24. I scored a similar score of 610 (Q46 V28). RC was still the main issue. Over the past 5 weeks, I have been focusing on the way I read passages - taking a few seconds to as myself "why" the author wrote each paragraph and do a quick summary. I have been practicing these untimed. I am seeing some greater accuracy when I practice RC (from about half of the questions wrong in a 9 question passage to no more than 2 wrong). Happy to see some progress made and happy to hear what you have to say about this approach as well. Thanks again for your help!
