5 years now
4 years in a private school
1 year in govt school after clearing national level exam

Post mba goals- education consultant
I have several achievements/ co curricular
I think you can go for the MBA now, no need for additional work - you will need to make sure your resume/essays demonstrate your transferrable skills - management, leadership, supply chain mgmt, finance... etc. But no need to go get another job just to apply to an MBA. ((Answer would be different if you told me you wanted to go into Finance/IB or something more technical))

I want to get into Tech Strategy and PM Roles. Those are my short term goals.
I automatically think of the Tech MBA programs - NYU, Cornell, Kellogg - if you are up for the 1 year program, typically the employment rate is close to 100%, including international students - check with current students/recent grads to see if this is true for the class graduating now... but its generally a strong path.
These schools are also a great option with the 2yr program, depending on profile, MIT, Duke, Tepper, Ross...

Thank you so much again, I’ve jotted all of these down on my list to do further research on.

On a sidenote, thanks a million to you and GMAT Club. The work you do has so much impact for us all.

You are so kind, thank you for participating in these events - you asking questions helps those that either are shy to ask or that weren’t even thinking about questions/topic

Appreciate it! A short follow-up question on what you mentioned. Are 1 year MBAs as respected right now? Since the duration is shorter, the general perception is that there is a shorter duration for networking and building your profile across just 1 year. Would love to hear your thoughts.

The degree is the same - MBA, that will be what goes on your resume/linkedin profile after, so it won’t be valued less in the future, it will have the same weight as 2 year MBA to an employer. Personally, depends on you - if you are looking forward to joining clubs and soaking in the college experience... then the 1 year programs may not be the best fit since they are so fast and intense (INSEAD is 10 months!), but you also have less debt and faster ROI... so you can factor these into your decisions.

Hello Respected Jenifer T and GMAT team,
Is there a timeline you recommend for having everything ready from now before Round 1 begins?
Hi! I would start working on your to-do list as soon as possible.
*First - if you haven’t taken the GMAT/GRE yet that will be a priority, I’d try to have the first attempt by mid-July with room for a second attempt if needed in August
*Right now you can work on networking, creating an MBA resume (we did a GMAT Club Youtube on this yesterday), and formulating your Short and Long-term Goals
*Some applications are already published, but the rest will be out by mid-June, so plan to start by ~June 15 on essays
*July -early August you are working on refining your materials
*Early September you are submitting applications

You can find a complete timeline for the MBA application process here:
