However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income, even if other manufacturing activities proliferate.
whether is better choice to depict the choice between two alternatives - like it or do not like it.
A. However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
Incorrect. The semicolon (;) should be replaced with a comma (,) to separate the two independent clauses.

Incorrect. The first clause needs a comma after “However” and before “agriculture”.
C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,

D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,

Rationale: Improper use of a semicolon with the word "however". The semicolon should come before "however".

B. However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income
-Suspected to be incorrect.
Rationale: Improper use of commas. The sentence structure is disrupted.

C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
-Suspected to be correct.
Rationale: Proper use of commas.

D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
-Suspected to be incorrect.

E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
-Suspected to be incorrect.

We should use "whether" to consider between 2 options
"However" is incorrect -> Eliminate A and B

After the clause "Whether one likes it or not", there should be a comma -> C is correct

I chose C

A. However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
The first segment is not independent clause, incorrect use of semicolon. "however" introduces contrast.
B. However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income
"However" introduces contrast, incorrect use. the second segment has 2 subjects and 2 verbs.
C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
no comma after the first segment.
E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
wrong use of " !".

Usage of "however" in this context is wrong. Eliminate options A and B. We require a comma after "not", to specify exactly what "it" refers to. Hence only option C does this.

Answer Option C.

Let's evaluate the answer choices:

(A) "However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,"

"However one likes it or not" is a misuse of the word "however". "However" is typically used to introduce a contrast or exception, not a hypothetical condition. The semicolon should also be replaced with a comma as the two clauses are closely related and not independent.
(eliminate)

(B) "However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income"

The lack of comma after "not" causes a run-on sentence and confuses the meaning. Additionally, "however" is misused here as well.
(eliminate)

(C) "Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,"

This sentence uses "whether" correctly to introduce the hypothetical condition. The punctuation is also correct with a comma separating the two clauses. It correctly conveys the intended meaning.
(keep)

(D) "Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,"

This option misses a comma after "not", causing a run on sentence. This also lacks clarity.
(eliminate)

(E) "Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,"

The exclamation mark after "not" is not appropriate in this. It disrupts the flow of the sentence and also sounds awkward and unnecessary.
(eliminate)

I will go with C.

However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income, even if other manufacturing activities proliferate.

A. However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
B. However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income
C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,

Explanation:

The original underlined sentence is grammatically flawed. The semicolon used is not correct because here it separates two independent clauses that are not closely related. Also the use of 'however' is also incorrect because the intended meaning changes. It creates an expectation that whatever information follows 'however', it will contrast with what was previously said, but here the sentence does not provide any contrast.

A. However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
As explained above, INCORRECT

B. However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income
As explained above, INCORRECT

C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
This choice is correct. It is a declarative sentence that uses a subordinate conjunction "whether" to introduce the phrase 'whether one likes it or not,' which sets the context for the main clause. CORRECT

D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
This sentence is almost correct. There should have been a comma after 'not' to separate the introductory phrase from the main clause.
INCORRECT

E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
This sentence is incorrect because of the use of exclamation here. A proper conjunction is missing in this choice. There should have been a comma after 'not' to separate the introductory phrase from the main clause. INCORRECT

Let us start

A) A comma is left out after "not."
B) There is no comma after "not," and there is no conjunction between "not" and "agriculture."
C) It looks like pretty good, keep in mind
D) The same mistake like A
E)It inserts an unnecessary exclamation point after "not."

D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,

however is a conjunction to connect a dependent clause to an independent clause but we already have "even if" in nonunderlined part so however is redundant. A,B out
E use "Whether one likes it or not!" so "agriculture" following ! must be in capitalized "Agriculture" => E out

C and D
the only difference is the comma so we need to consider "Whether one likes it or not" is essential or nonessential
I think the core meaning still understandable without this part => non-essential
core meaning: agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income, even if other manufacturing activities proliferate.
pick C

Splits are as follows.
1. However vs whether split. Since it is about 2 choice (like or not) Whether is a better choice . A and B are out.
2. "," vs ";" vs "!" vs no commas. use of Comma is required for connecting one phrase with clause so semicolon and no usage of comma is wrong. D and E are out. D remains
3. ending with , or not C is conforming the placement of Comma

C is the answer.

However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income, even if other manufacturing activities proliferate.

A. However one likes it or not; agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
'However' is used for contrast; here, the option between 'liking' or 'not liking' is the meaning through the stimulus

B. However, one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income
not appropriate, since use of 'however' depicts 'contrast', and not 'option'

C. Whether one likes it or not, agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
correct usage of 'whether' to depict option,; also, 'comma' correctly used between 'not' and 'agriculture'

D. Whether one likes it or not agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
'comma' is missing between 'not' and 'agriculture'

E. Whether one likes it or not! agriculture will be considered as the primary source of income,
use of exclamation mark '!' is wrong punctuation usage

(A) "However one likes it or not" is not an IC and hence use of ";" is wrong here which is used to connect two ICs. Hence wrong answer.

(B) Use of "however" indicates some contrast to be present in the sentence after it, but no such contrast exist and hence its use is illogical here. Also, absence of comma between "not" and "agriculture" conveys a meaning that:- "one likes it or one likes not agriculture ...." which is illogical statement. Hence wrong answer.

(C) This statement is grammatically correct and coveys the meaning correctly. Hence this is the correct answer.

(D) Absence of comma between "not" and "agriculture" conveys a meaning that:- "Whether one likes it or whether one likes not agriculture ...." which is illogical statement. Hence wrong answer.

(E) Exclamation mark is the end of exclamatory sentence, but here it is treated as a comma. Also there is no exclamation in "Whether one likes it or not". Hence this statement is wrong.
