Answer A is clear and precise to express beach dweller left the coast to live with friends and relatives (compound noun) whose homes were located farther inland.
B) where can not modify friends and relative
C) same as in B
D) with seems as if beach dwellers left with homes
E) having homes seem to modify only relatives and hence does not clearly express the meaning than it is expressed in A
