We at A1 MBA Consultant expect the upcoming application cycle to be one of the most competitive cycles in a very long time. This is a function of many different things including an expected general down turn in the economy which will likely push people to pursue their MBA. From all our conversations with different members of admission committees, the general consensus is it will be a bloodbath! This makes it even more imperative for you to really focus on the quality of your application this cycle. This reality has been quite good for business with more and more people hiring admission consultants to maximize the quality of their application, so definitely operate with the realization that the competition will be very stiff.

If that is your journey then so be it. However, you will have to be careful when it comes to school and program selection because certain schools will mind more than others. What are you trying to pursue exactly for your Master’s studies? An MBA?

Hallelujah that’s an excellent GMAT score! So I guess that answers it you’re likely looking for an MBA. Feel free to DM us about this further, because it is a more thorough conversation. You will have to be careful with school selection. You can also send us your resume for a closer look at the big picture.

I wouldn’t recommend it over gaining more years of experience.

Yeah you would be fine. You just need to be careful about which schools you apply to, because some will not appreciate your resume as much as others. Your GMAT is excellent however and will help your chances quite a bit.

It’s a very common situation so don’t worry. We actually published an article on our website titled "How to Address a Weakness in Your Application" so definitely refer to that for the finer details. in general, start your essay by addressing it directly without beating around the bush, list the relevant reasons as to why this is the case, then focus on how you overcame your low GPA to continue on your successful journey, then list any accomplishments which indicate your high-level achievement and dedication to academic excellence (Like additional degrees, certificates, and of course most importantly your GMAT score).

How is the profile of a candidate viewed if he/she had worked for 2-3 years on their own startup/company but the company didn’t had a successful outcome?

Are you kidding? That’s an amazing narrative. more and more programs are looking for true entrepreneurs who have taken an idea to market. Most businesses will fail, however, the knowledge and experience you gain from that failure towers above the knowledge from most people’s experience. It is an excellent thing to have on your resume, and given careful crafting of your narrative, most MBA programs will love it. Of course you have to demonstrate self awareness and understanding of why things went south and tie that into your MBA goals.
