If x is total number of students, then the number of students who walk to school is 40%/2+60%*40%=44% C)

It should be 40%/2 + 60%*60% = 56% option D.

Girls make up 60% of the class, and 40% of the girls take a bus, implying 60% walk, hence 60%*60% instead of 60%*40%
