At a certain zoo there are 250 snakes. Fifty of the snakes are venomous, 120 of the snakes are hibernating, and 77 are molting. Of the venomous snakes 45 are molting and of the non-venomous snakes 32 are molting. If none of the venomous snakes are hibernating then which of the following must be true?
A. 32 of the snakes are hibernating non-venomous
B. 45 of the snakes are not molting and venomous
C. there are 88 venomous snakes
D. there are 43 molting, non-venomous snakes that are not hibernating
E. there are 130 snakes that are not hibernating
Given:
(i) There are \(250\) snakes; Venomous-\(50\), Hibernating-\(120\), Molting-\(77\), which adds upto \(247\), so \(3\) are unclassified (say).
(ii) Of the \(77\) molting snakes, \(45\) are venomous and \(32\) are not.
(iii) Of the \(120\) hibernating snakes none are venomous, so, the \(50\) venomous snakes are either up and molting or just up.
(A) \(32\) are non-venomous, but we don't know for sure if they are hibernating.
(B) \(45\) are venomous, again we can't be sure if they're molting.
(C) No.
(D) No. of non-hibernating snakes = \(250-120 = 130\). Of this \(130\) snakes, \(77\) are molting, and \(32\) are non-venomous: \(77+32-130 = 21\). No.
(E) No. of non-hibernating snakes = \(250-120 = 130\). Ans - E.
