The question asks how much Marcus would have saved by shopping at Green Market instead of Riverside Market.
Looking at the price differences, almonds are $2 cheaper per kg at Green Market, walnuts are $2 cheaper per kg, and pecans are $2 cheaper per kg. Every nut is exactly $2 cheaper per kg at Green Market.
This means the total savings would simply be $2 multiplied by the total weight of nuts purchased, regardless of which nuts he bought or in what ratio.

Statement 1 tells us the total weight was 4.5 kilograms. Since every kilogram saves $2, his total savings would be 4.5 times $2 equals $9. This is sufficient on its own.

Statement 2 tells us the ratio of walnuts to pecans to almonds was 2:3:5. This gives us the proportion of each nut but not the actual total weight, so we cannot calculate a dollar amount. This is not sufficient on its own.

The answer is A — Statement 1 alone is sufficient, but Statement 2 alone is not sufficient.

Statement 1:
Individual quantities bought in both the markets are the same.
He would save $2 for each kilo of item bought.
Thus 2*4.5 = $9 saved.
SUFFICIENT.

Statement 2:
We only know the ratios and not the amount of items to denote the exact savings.
INSUFFICIENT.

Answer: Option A

At two specialty food stalls, Green Market and Riverside Market, the prices per kilogram of almonds, walnuts, and pecans were as follows:

Green Market Riverside Market
Almonds $14 $16
Walnuts $16 $18
Pecans $18 $20

Marcus bought certain quantities of almonds, walnuts, and pecans at Riverside Market. How much money would he have saved if he had bought those same quantities at Green Market instead?

(1) The total weight of nuts Marcus bought was 4.5 kilograms.

(2) For every 2 kilograms of walnuts Marcus bought, he bought 3 kilograms of pecans and 5 kilograms of almonds.

why the full question is not available. and not the options as well????

This is a data sufficiency question. Options for DS questions are always the same and usually omitted on the site.

The data sufficiency problem consists of a question and two statements, labeled (1) and (2), in which certain data are given. You have to decide whether the data given in the statements are sufficient for answering the question. Using the data given in the statements, plus your knowledge of mathematics and everyday facts (such as the number of days in July or the meaning of the word counterclockwise), you must indicate whether—

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient to answer the question asked.
C. BOTH statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are sufficient to answer the question asked, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient to answer the question asked.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient to answer the question asked, and additional data specific to the problem are needed.

Hope this helps.
