Let the number of students studying biology, chemistry, physics, (biology+chemistry), (chemistry+physics), (physics+chemistry) and (all three subjects) be denoted by B, C, P, BC, CP, PC and BCP respectively. Then:
Total number of students = (B+C+P) - (BC+CP+PC) + BCP = (4+4+4) - (2+2+2) + 1 = 7
ANS: B
