Hey guys, I am preparing for my gmat. But i have a very short time. Could someone let me know if I should put a lot of effort into AWA? I mean do schools really care about this? Or Should I just focus on the verbal and quant section.

Hi!

I will be happy to help you in whatever little way I can:)

You may look at AWA as a mechanism for rejection rather than selection. General belief is that only a score out of 800 is what that really counts but if your aspiration is to get into a top B School then most of the applicants would have a very good performance in almost all the sections. Hence you don't want to get rejected because of AWA. On the safer side, you should try to get a good score, maybe atleast a 5.

All the best!!
