Depending too much on templates and samples isn't a good idea. They tend to encourage a mechanical methodology without really explaining the underlying concepts of what works and why.
By all means check out a few templates and samples, but pick up the nuances and build your own approach to tackle AWA essays.
Practice and then practice some more.
