MJeet
Hi All,
I have recently given my GMAT focus edition test and scored a 655. I'm looking to apply for b-schools for my second MBA (I already hold an MBA degree from a top 15 b-school in India) and would like to get an understanding of where I stand currently.
A brief about my profile:
I'm currently working with Capgemini as an SCM Business Consultant. I'm planning for the 2025 admit and will have gain an experience of close to 36-40 months. I have done my MBA from IIM Tiruchirappalli and graduated in the year 2022. I hold a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from NIT Calicut.
Moving onto my academics, I have 60-70% marks in both my UG and PG from NIT and IIM respectively.
I'm basically looking to apply for the M7 schools and would like to know where my profile stands. Kindly let me know if there's any other b-schools that I should try to target apart from M7 as well.
Thank You
MJeet - some thoughts/ clarifications:
1. What are your career goals post-MBA i.e. which sectors/ functions are you targeting? This, along with your fitment to class profile, can help prioritize programs. Top B-schools for consulting, finance and tech careers can be found
here,
here and
here2. Your GPAs and current GMAT score would make M7's a stretch, due to the competitive applicant pool. Latest class profiles/ averages of M7's can be found
here. I would suggest retaking GMAT (or switching to GRE) to increase your odds. Adding some more UST-25 B-schools (aligned to your career goals) would help derisk.
3. It would be crucial to have a strong narrative highlighting your motivation for a second MBA. B-schools value ExtraCurriculars; presenting a balanced profile highlighting your overall traits/ personality would also be important.
Hope this helps a bit. Feel free to reach out through the link(s) below for a deeper chat.
Regards,
Arvind
