hii bunnel
to know some basics iam seeing cbse maths books, so i have one doubt

does subtraction is associative with natural numbers?? its not
as per analysis with example a-(b-c) # ( a-b) - c

but i want to know is it right or wrong becz in cbse 8ths maths it is stating as associative for subtraction
pls clarify even though its silly bunnel

hiiiii....

ZERO
why zero is called as identity for the additional of rational numbers? and
also why it is also a additive identity of whole numbers and integers?

one thing i know about zero is , if it is used as an operation to any number , the result is the same number ex: in add, subtraction
ex: a+0 = 0+a = a

these points u have read in cbse 8th class ,
can anyone clear this point pls

thank you

Subtraction is not associative with natural number.

a-(b-c) = a - b +c
( a-b) - c= a - b -c
Clearly not the same

a +0 = 0+a = a is exactly why 0 is additive identify for whole numbers, integers and rational numbers.

Similarly, 1 is the multiplicative identiy. a * 1 = 1 * a = a.
