This is a fun idea, bb! Here are the options (in no particular order):

  • Manhattan guidebooks
  • OG series
  • Jeff Sackmann's math sets
  • GMATClub tests

Choose whichever resource(s) the person needs the most.

Another add-in to the above list :

Veritas Prep GMAT books

This is another great guide for GMAT I think... :)

I think the best gift for a GMAT test taker depends according to where he/she is with respect to his/her GMAT preparation.
For students who have already booked a date and are 2-3 months into the prep the MGMAT guides or the GMAT coupon might not make sense because he/she probably has them and a GMAT coupon might bring retake nightmares!
Best gift in that case would be advanced books such as Jeff Sackmann or GMATClub tests or the GMAT Question Pack.

I wish if the following could be in a material form which could be presented:-
peace of mind, ability to think naturally, confidence while taking test and so many...However since that won't be possible so i think the most popular and the most wanted way would be to gift the study materials or prep courses( if we have). Since everybody would be at different stage of the preparation( Day 1 to D day), so the need( the best gift) will also be different and thus vary from individual to individual.
I think if i have to name one thing, gmatclub tests would be it as many people contribute immensely for the requirement of 25 kudos.
Else, the list of material is endless. If we want to give more than one thing, the popular stuff( such as mgmat books or egmat SC course) can be given on this elite club.
Cheers :)

I purchased yesterday Total Gmat Math by Jeff reading the comments on amazon by BB and its review.

I already have MGMAT guides and advanced gmat quant.......I simply think that it is amazing, is not cheap but it is worth, really.

I already read almost half of the book in three hours (including exercises, and of course after months of study and gmatclub I'm in a good shape on quant, this not surprise me).

It is perfect to cement the concepts over and over again, this is what I really need to tackle the quant section, plus a lot of 700 gmat like question (really gmat-like).

really good both for a novice toward upper level and for one skilled to consolidate all.

I decide to buy it after BB review, this is for sure. He convinced me :)

A case of Red Bull for a boost while studying, a few high-quality protein bars for energy during breaks in the test, and--if the test-taker drinks alcohol--a bottle of his favorite booze for the post-test celebration... or to help him drown his sorrows if he has a bad day. :food :drinking

wait, after or before the test?

If after a gigantic bottle of whiskey (which is what I will be drinking an entire bottle of on December 31st after my test, I will probably bring the bottle with me to the test center)

The question was intended for those who have not taken their GMAT yet (preparing for it), and alcohol is probably not very useful during the prep... that's something to take the edge off after...
