I would recommend that you look into GMAT Fiction

As to the mini-tests vs full length tests, both serve a purpose but they are different purposes.
You want to take any questions/exercises in a timed environment.
However, you want to take full tests to be able to experience the stress/load and have a realistic expectation about the test stamina. bottom line - you need both.

I just finished MGMAT, and was doing some OG practices.. I got very hopeful cause I had the questions in the beginning right but then I went downwards noticing that all the harder questions were wrong Pfff I need a 700+ score but currently it's going like $@%#$%.. Not to mention, I read that most of the questiosn in the OG arent even that hard.. If I already get the 'harder' questions from OG wrong, can you imagine what I will actually score on the 'real hard' questions.. Sigh, any suggestions?

I will take GMAT next year and I am wondering are there going to be new issue of GMAT Verbal Review or GMAT Quantitative Review or The Official Guide for GMAT Review? I read somewhere that Manhattan will put new issue in (November?).

Going to use OG 12, Kaplan 2011 premier, and MGMT Number properties. Will this be enough to score a 650 on the GMAT? I'm looking at Tulane (Freeman) PMBA, Rice PMBA, and Thunderbird Global MBA.

Thanks

Maybe...
Depends on where you are and how much effort you put in.

johncarlosallen2012,The books you have chosen are very important in the GMAT preparation. However,You should analyse your weaknesses and adopt a strategy accordingly to tackle the section. Then you can refer to the specialised books.Given that you are clear on the target score. Hope you can track your progress and improve on your weaknesses to make the mark. All the best!

For tackling CR section- is it better to go with Manhattan CR or Powerscore CR? Pls suggest! The objective is to cover all the fundamentals and be able to tackle any question.

PowerScore CR is considered the better of the two.

Re: Best GMAT Books [#permalink]
Hi Sid,

First way of assessing your preparedness for the test is to give a test- so that you can analyse your strengths and weaknesses! So many free tests are available for the same or you can try even the diagnostic test in the Official guide. Then you can adopt a strategy accordingly to work on your improvement areas. Books usually considered essential for GMAT prepartion are Official Guide-12 Edition, Kaplan Gmat Premier- Latest is expected in June/july, Manhattan SC, Powerscore CR among the most preferred ones. I would suggest you to visit the link which BB has dedicated to Gmat books say like for basic/advanced/ultimate..... All the best!

Re: Best GMAT Books [#permalink]
Not new to gmatclub, but starting my preps now. Wanted a quick suggestions on which books I should buy. Aiming a score of 700+

Currently I have the entire Manhattan guide set ONLY.

My objective is to get as many tests as possible. I was thinking of the following set:

Manhattan Set
OG12
Kaplan Math and Verbal workbook

In the above combination, I am getting 2 Free tests(GMAC) and 6 manhattan tests. Are these enough? Are the various free tests available online any good?

Does Kaplan workbooks come with any tests or Only Kaplan Premier has the tests? In which case, should I buy the Kaplan premier only for the tests?

Not sure if you need the 2 workbooks.... maybe. The MGMAT guides are pretty detailed.
I could only suggest their new Advanced GMAT Quant book that came out this week

The workbooks do not. Only the Kaplan Premier.

You may want to have access to those, just to have them, so I would get the Premier esp if you burn through the MGMAT ones.

Re: Best GMAT Books [#permalink]
hellow,

from your experience what OG QUANT represents most the real test:
OG 10
OG11
OG12
OG QUANTITATIVE

i went through most of OG 10 AND BESIDES THE LAST 50 Q most quant is easy-medium level.

OG 12

It has the latest set of questions but they are not super hard either. The supplements are definitely on the easier side.

OG 10 is not bad either - it has a lot of questions overlapping with the GMAT prep software. Just FYI.

Dear advanced users,

Is there someone who succesfully combined classes (preferebly on-line) and also bought self-study materials? Does it make sense to combine different study materials?
Please, share your experience.

Thank you in advance.
