I've been reading English Grammar in Use and found it good enough. If your level of English is not so high and you search for something to improve quickly, that's a book you can read.

Hi,

I wanted to access this free version of the grammar book but I am not able to download. It keeps directing me to the forum page where it prompts to the paid version.

I just wanted to look through it first and then make a decision.

Could you please guide me to the link where I can download the sample book?

I used Princeton Review Grammar Smart CD's (2):

Pros: Audio, you can listen to it while driving to work. It covers basic grammar rules and common mistakes and gives plenty examples. It does not deviate into the intricate details of English grammar.

Cons: The narrators (man and woman) are trying to be witty and funny. Some people may like it some may not. I'm in the latter group. The grammar level is Very basic and far from being a complete source of information needed for GMAT.

Bottom Line: Good if you are driving. There aren't too many options when it comes to audio prep materials for GMAT.

Consider "Grammar to Go - How It Works and How To Use It". I am using it and find it very usefull. Especially for those who study English as second language and need to cover basics first.

You may buy kindle editions from Amazon. Also, most of these are available at local book stores (especially Wren & Martin). The GmatClub Grammar book is available for free on this link : GMAT Club Grammar Book Download

The book by Wren and Martin, how much should I study it, I mean should I study it from page one to last or should I just make myself comfortable with nouns pronouns .... And their general usage ?

Thank you for the list of books.

The Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White is a small but very helpful compendium of advice.

I think Wren and Martin is pretty exhaustive if you are aiming for GMAT. you can use it to build basics and understand where you are going wrong while you practice.

There are many great GMAT grammar books available, but some of the best for international students include:

Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction: This book provides comprehensive coverage of all aspects of sentence correction, including subject-verb agreement, pronoun usage, parallelism, and more. It also includes a wealth of practice problems to help students improve their skills.

PowerScore GMAT Sentence Correction: This book is another great option for international students. It provides a more in-depth look at sentence correction than Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction, and it also includes a number of helpful drills and exercises.

GMAT Club Ultimate Grammar: This book is a free resource that provides comprehensive coverage of all aspects of GMAT grammar. It includes a number of helpful explanations and examples, as well as a wealth of practice problems.

It is important to note that all of these books are written for native English speakers. However, they can still be helpful for international students who are looking to improve their grammar skills. The key is to be patient and to take your time with the material. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you get stuck.

In addition to reading a grammar book, it is also helpful to practice your grammar skills by writing essays and reading articles. The more you practice, the better you will become at using correct grammar.

Here are some additional tips for international students who are preparing for the GMAT:

Take a practice test: This will give you a good idea of your strengths and weaknesses in terms of grammar.
Work on your weaknesses: If you find that you are struggling with a particular area of grammar, focus on improving your skills in that area.
Get help from a tutor: If you are struggling to improve your grammar skills on your own, consider getting help from a tutor.
With hard work and dedication, you can improve your grammar skills and achieve your GMAT goals.
