Do you really need a long term horizon? That's the first thing you should answer; a mock test at this stage could give you answers.

Even if you have a lot of time, there are better ways than GMAT to keep yourself occupied :)

Leave this life-long preoccupation with GMAT, to instructors like us;).

All the best!

Hi TheRomanRoyalty,

Great call on getting started with your GMAT prep early:). That said, don't purposely drag out your prep. If you have the time and motivation to complete it now, just go all in! The only thing to remember is that your GMAT score lasts for just 5 years, so make sure you'll have a valid score by the time you apply.

On the GMAT you wan to get in and get out fast.

Get a good score keep it in your pocket and build a profile that will get into your target school.

All official guide material is for 1 year subscription so you should be good there.

For other test subscriptions you can buy them as make progress with your prep.

You will also want to look into deferred admissions to see if there is potential to secure a seat for the future.

Good luck.

I'm currently pretty early into my career post-college (slightly under 1 year) and plan on doing an MBA after a few years. I have a good amount of free time and figured I could start studying now and get it out of the way. With a long time horizon, what would be a good way of approaching this? Also what test providers would be the best option in this case since I would probably want access for six months or longer.
Thanks.
