Congrats everyone!

Any one cross admits to Kellogg and Booth? The admit weekends both fall on the same weekend....can you somehow go to both?

Most people I know who were admitted to both ended up attending one, but it can be done. You will definitely have a bit of FOMO.

Booth's admit day was absolutely amazing. Friday is the big day, and the event Friday night is not to be missed. I think Kellogg does stuff on Saturday, if that's the case I'd aim for Friday @ Booth and then skip the housing tours Sat to visit Kellogg.

I second this...I found the daytime Saturday for Booth to be less important than Friday (though it is nice that you have some downtime, as the night can end pretty late on Friday) The housing tours are not that helpful for most people. If you are going to look at housing, I'd make appointments ahead of time with the leasing offices (but not before getting in contact with a current student in the building, the referral fees are great!)

I third that (if that's a thing). Saturday at Booth was pretty uneventful. People just nursed their well-earned hangovers, checked out some housing, and talked to random walk leaders. But hopefully by then you'll have decided on Booth and you won't need to visit Evanston :-D

To be honest, it was an easier decision in the end than I thought. I really liked Kellogg when I visited, the people were great and the campus (besides the actual management building) was beautiful.

In the end it came down to what I'm interested in doing after school (leaning more towards PE/IB/finance, not consulting), and where I wanted to live (my wife's job in Chicago will be in the Loop).

I found myself making excuses to go to Kellogg, where the rational choice for me was Booth all the way. I had planned to split the admit weekend as most of you are suggesting, but found myself really enjoying all of the people that I met at Booth, and didn't bother going to Kellogg at all.

I think they put them on the same weekend intentionally, because the place you go to first will probably be the place you choose...if Kelloggs weekend is as impressive as Booths, you will be sold on the first day.

brandon432: Did you buy or rent the condo? I'm moving with my family so i'm debating between buying and renting a condo in Chicago...

I have a wife and daughter, so we have a nice, big condo in the South Loop.

I did a more thorough post on housing last year here. Check it out:
https://gmatclub.com/forum/booth-chicago ... g#p1353732

Some popular buildings:

Loop - MPP is by the most popular, Columbus Plaza is #2. After that it drops off a bit. Shoreham, Tides, Aqua, MDA City Apartments, some AMLI buildings, and Park Millennium are all represented.

South Loop - Most just go by their address number (mostly on S. Michigan). 1130 and 1212 are probably top-2 with maybe 30-40 (guessing) Boothies each.1250 and Sky55 also come to mind. Little more space, better finishes, more pet-friendly, better amenities, same proximity to Metra as MPP, 5 minute bus or 10 min. walk to MPP, but a bit more decentralized on the whole.

We're renting. I have a few friends who bought condos for school, but would only recommend it if your know you'll stay in Chicago. Closing costs in resale will eat up any equity gains otherwise.

What is the dress code for First Day?
While there is no strict dress code, we recommend smart casual (jeans are appropriate) for most of the weekend. Please note that there will be a considerable amount of walking, as you will have the opportunity to explore various areas of Harper Center on Friday and Saturday. Additionally, we recommend wearing a comfortable pair of shoes for the Neighborhood and Housing Tours. The Closing Reception on Friday evening calls for cocktail attire.

Smart Casual Dos: blazers, oxford shirts, sweaters or jumpers, blouses, polo shirts, nice jeans, trousers
Smart Casual Don'ts: t-shirts, sweatpants, sweatshirts, sportswear, baseball caps, flip-flops

Hello everyone,

First off, Congratulations on getting accepted into Chicago Booth!

Now that you've been admitted, have you thought about how you're going to finance your MBA? As an international student, I found it a bit difficult to get funds for my MBA, and I'm sure there are many students in the same position - so I wanted to share some information that might be helpful.

Prodigy Finance is a loan provider that offers loans specifically for MBA students who are traveling abroad for their studies. Check it out, as it might be an option for you.
