Hello Everyone,

I am fortunate to receive 2 offers (without scholarships at either):
1) Booth (admitted after being on waitlist since R1)
2) Kellogg (R1)

Since both have been quipped as "peer schools", I am troubled making the decision especially since I had completed a number of check-lists as an international student for Kellogg (Housing, Loans, etc.)

I am currently working for one of the MBBs in their back-end offices and aspire to return to consulting in this troubled market.

Interacting with folks from both the schools during appln. phace didn't reveal any noticeable differences for me.
After attending a number of mock classes, my mind does demonstrate proclivity towards Booth's "data-driven" curriculum vs Kellogg's "team-based" learning. That said, I'm not sure if this perspective alone suffices in picking one b-school over the other especially with the hassles of undergoing the matriculation process from scratch just 2 months in advance.

Any advice would make my decision making process incredibly easier.

Thank you very much in advance!

Hey Acegmat603,

Congrats on the two fantastic admits!! Amazing feat buddy!

For your MBB gig post MBA you simply cant go wrong with either of the schools. Both will position you extremely well for a consulting gig at a top tier firm in the Chicago area. Ultimately it will boil down to your academics, problem solving skills, case prep, industry knowledge and a cultural fit to get the consulting job. Just FYI, this year the internship recruitments at most firms are down and thus it is increasingly harder to get those gigs, firms a lot more focused on niche skills such as digital, sustainability etc.

For a long terms perspective, here is where difference between the two schools might lie. If you have the aspiration to get into a PE/VC kind of role post your consulting career, Booth maybe a better choice given their strong focus and presence in Finance and Economic. However, if you are looking at leadership / strategy oriented roles post your consulting gig, Kellogg maybe a better choice given their presence in those roles.

Hope that helps? Again, both are truly fantastic schools, so you cant go wrong with either!

All the best!

Thank you,
TheMBAEdge

If u r a nerd go to Booth, if u r cool and outgoing and like social parties every Friday evening go to Kellogg ! It's all about fitting in to the community to maximize your network! Otherwise both are great schools for your consulting interest

Booth and Kellogg are peer schools but the experience will be different at each.

If you prefer a more data-driven curriculum with flexibility and living in downtown Chicago, go to Booth. If you'd prefer a more structured, softer curriculum and living in Evanston on a college campus, go to Kellogg. I'd attend both admit weekends and make your decision after that.
