Born and raised in Groningen, Netherlands, the life of Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics, was dedicated to pioneering work in astronomy and also mathematical physics.

A. the life of Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics, was dedicated to pioneering work in astronomy and also ---- lacks parallelism - be 'in astronomy and mathematical physics'.

B. Daniel Bernoulli, who was one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century as well as the father of modern hydrodynamics, dedicated his life to pioneering work in astronomy and also ---- same as in A.

C. the life of Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics, which he dedicated to pioneering work in astronomy and ---- wrong modification

D. Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics, he dedicated his life to pioneering work in astronomy and ---'DB' and 'he' are redundant.

E. Daniel Bernoulli, one of the greatest mathematicians of the 18th century and the father of modern hydrodynamics, dedicated his life to pioneering work in astronomy and --correct choice

Answer:
Look for the splits in the answer choices:Based on that ,
Eliminate A and C since Daniel was born and raised at some place, rather than his life.
Now the other splits is parallelism - 'in astronomy and mathematical physics' is correct structure."astronomy and also mathematical physics:" is not parallel in option B.
So D and E remain.
He dedicated is redundant in D.SO answer E.

My two cents, I think none of the explanations mentions the meaning issue with 'B', B says 'who was one of the greatest mathematicians and ...' which seems to indicate that he is not now considered the greatest mathematicians of 18th century and not considered the father of modern hydrodynamics while E keeps the original meaning intact with the phrase 'one of the greatest mathematicians of the' hence E is better than B.

I have never liked explanations stating 'awkward' or 'wordy'
