Hey all,

I was wondering what type of briefcases you guys use (if you use one) and one that could be recommended for a young professional.

Great question sneakerhead - I'll add my curiosity to the mix. What's in mode for young financiers? Must it be a briefcase with a handle, or are messenger bags acceptable? Black or brown leather?

Based off your handle, I'm also guessing you share my disappointment that Air Jordans and AF1's are not acceptable footwear in the workplace :evil:

Do you mean professionally or for school? At school it's pretty casual, a mix of backpacks and messenger-style bags. I use a messenger laptop bag from Manhattan Portage that is great, very durable and holds all the crap I haul back and forth to school. When I worked, I had a Tumi roller briefcase, but only used the rolling portion when I traveled. If I were just going to the office I'd use the laptop case portion of the bag, which had handles and was like a mini-briefcase.

Thx Jerz - that sounds about right. I had been eyeing a couple different Tomi bags that looked like they'd transfer well from school to the office.

My question is more for professionally. I'm starting work for an international conglomerate and I'm wondering what would be acceptable.

Philly, many advertising agencies where I'm located also have a very casual dress code where you can wear AF1's and Jordans. Unfortunately, where I'm working these are unacceptable. A real pity since I think some sneakers, especially Nike's, are some of the most comfortable shoes around.

Amen. Unfortunately the banking world prefers Ferragamos over Air Force 1's.
