I am an Indian Male, 30, Sustainability consultant by profession.
It took me almost an year’s time to get to low 600s to 750. When I finally saw the score flashing on the screen, I thought it will finally open up doors of new opportunities for me.
However, one by one, I was rejected by all the major colleges. Tuck, Berkeley, and Kellogg rejected me after an interview, while Yale, Darden, Ross, NYU did not even invite me for the interview.
Is this a common pattern this year for Indians? I have heard things are much more difficult for Indians this year. Plus, classic score guys are facing much higher competition from FE guys, because it is easier to score higher percentile there.
What are your thoughts on this? Could anyone offer some suggestion how to gear up for the next year?
For now, I have started to prepare for FE edition, trying to score 745+ to stand out.

Excellent question!
We’re still waiting for the Round 2 stats, but based on what we saw in Round 1, our numbers are quite similar to previous years. You can check out our annual stats here: ARINGO MBA Admission Statistics.
Around 50% of our applicants come from India (and yes, 99% of them are Indian male engineers! 🙂). So far, I haven’t noticed any significant change in this year’s acceptance rates.
What can you do to improve your chances? Focus on crafting stronger applications, pushing your GMAT score even higher, and refining your interview skills.
