I will go with ‘B’
The connecting words – furthermore & in addition, used in ‘A’, ‘D’ & ‘E’ is not right. So between ‘B’ & ‘C’, ‘C’ uses the present perfect form which I think is not necessary.

C..

--However instead of furthermore because the sentence is showing "contrast"

-- "did not seem to have bothered" instead of "did not seem to bother"
tense.....
(can anyone explain this point ?)

Between B & C:

shouldn't it be "have bothered" since the sentence says "have drunk"?

A, D, and E are ruled out because incorrect usage of furthermore/in addition,

was reported to HAVE drunk....> will imply "did not seem to HAVE bothered".

It seems that the original sentence refers to one particular instnace when the writer drank 25 cups of coffee.... so we can conclude that once incidence dint affect him much.

However if we make the sentence as "did not seem to bother"... will probably mean, the writer was NEVER bothered by high dosage of caffine

Answer should be C

B---> Present Tense
C----> Past Tense
The sentence after the UNDERLINED part is IN PAST TENSE.

That is right. B is the OA. Key here is to know the usage of have.
C actually means johnson used to drink caffeine a lot now he doesn't do it any more and whatever he used to drink hasn't bothered him

B means John is still drinking caffeine & it doesn't affect him. In this context B is more appropriate. Thanks all for your inputs
