There's still some 4 weeks or so left; I'd say there's another week left for invitations at least, so don't lose hope yet.

Recent interview of Ross MBA Admission Manager to BW. I found it very boring, but thought that it can be interesting for you. The only fresh fact is that the number of applications in R1 has increased double digit.
Well, looking for your comments.

well, I'm boned. Time to dust off that resume.

My app went complete around Jan 18th, and i got my invite almost 4 weeks later

Narsi and Panday, I am sure they are not done with sending invites. They have slots on a week by week basis, so thinking on the same lines, looks like they are sending invites which can be accomodated withing the next week. We still have 4 weeks to decision, so atleast 3 more rounds of interview invites.

Subject: Invitation to Interview at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business

After reviewing your application, we would like to formally invite you to interview for admission to the MBA program at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. We utilize the interview as a complement to your application materials, to learn more about you, and to provide you an opportunity to further assess the program’s fit with your personal and professional goals.

To allow for maximum convenience, we provide multiple options for the interview, all of which are weighted and viewed exactly the same during the applicant review process. You may:

1. interview with a member of the Alumni Admissions Committee. The Office of Admissions will match you with an appropriate member of the AAC with whom you will arrange your interview at a mutually convenient time. These interviews are usually in person but are occasionally conducted by phone for practical reasons. Many prospective students find this to be a much more flexible and viable option.

2. interview with a member of the Admissions staff. These interviews are conducted by phone or in person in Ann Arbor. Interviews with Admissions staff occur during standard office hours.

You are invited to interview between November 13 and November 21, 2007. In order to accept our invitation to interview, you must send an updated copy of your resume (file named “LastName_FirstName”) via email to [email protected]. The subject line of this email should indicate your preference for interviewing either with an Alumni Admissions Committee member (Request to Interview with AAC) or with a member of the Admissions staff (Request to Interview with Admissions Staff). You will then receive further instructions on how to proceed.

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you success in the interview process.

Regards,

Interview Office

Office of Admissions

Stephen M. Ross School of Business

University of Michigan

Clobo, I haven't decided on the day yet.

Looks like the instructions have changed. No Alumni interviews anymore.
After reviewing your application, we would like to formally invite you to interview for admission to the MBA program at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. We utilize the interview as a complement to your application materials, to learn more about you, and to provide you an opportunity to further assess the program’s fit with your personal and professional goals.

You are invited to interview between February 18 and February 25. In order to accept our invitation to interview, you must send an updated copy of your resume (file named “LastName_FirstName”) via email to [email protected]. Please make the subject line of your email “Accept Interview [Your Full Name]”

You may register for either a phone interview or an in-person interview in Ann Arbor. Each interview slot is designated as one or the other.

After registering for an interview, you will receive a simple automated confirmation of your registration. Shortly thereafter (within 2 business days), you will receive an email with details specific to your interview, including the appropriate phone number and/or directions.

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you success in the interview process.

Thks guys for all da support. My app went complete on Jan24. however, i m not so sure whethere it hs something to do with how soon you get an invite. Anyway, like others said, there are 4 more weeks to go so do not give up yet. I am sure there will be a lot more invites coming out. I totally understand how painful waiting for an invite is :)

the final decision date for Ross is March 15. I don't think they would send out invites beyond feb 22th. that would make sure that all interview are completed by feb end which gives them about 2 weeks to make decisions. I don't think they would drag it any closer than that. not getting an interview is disappointing as i thought i had a fairly competitive application. I will hold out for another couple days before finally writing off my investment in Ross.

I just mentioned that there are no open interview slots available on website. Does it mean that they already have finished sending interview invites?

I suppose that at least in R2 Ross did not practice alumni interview as an option. On website there is no slots available neither phone nor on campus.

Just done with my interview..15 mins  only

but everything else was standard - Why MBA, Why Ross, Most important achievement, what will you bring to Ross...fumbled on what you bring to Ross..chit chatted with the person who seemed friendly enough

BTW a tip to all Indians, i was very fast while talking, he mentioned that, but i made the same mistake again.. habit habit....You might want to practice speaking slowly

I see 2 for 2/22/08 at 8:30 am phone interview. It's likely they make more slots available as they send out more interviews. Otherwise it wouldn't make sense to have more interviews sent out than slots.

Thanks for the debrief todoornot. And really, don't worry about how the interview went. Most of the R-1ers felt their interview was so-so too. And they all got in! So really, sit back and wait for the 15th. Easier said than done, I know ;)

KK i'll post it here coz for some reason, all my PMs are stuck in my out box

Quote:
I was asked standard questions but the interview started with what was your most important achievement and why. Then wht were your short and long term plans. how MBA will help at this point. Why Ross, what you bring to Ross. BTW, i was interviewed by adcomm and he seemed to have read my app.
Also, i was asked to talk slowly, but i am so habituated to talking fast, that i kept making the same mistake. I wud suggest you have a mock phone interview with a friend, i think we sound different on phone.

Also, they seem to have a standard set of questions, so take your time in answering them, u dont want to have too much time on your hands and run out of questions the way i did

All the best.
