Ding w/o interview (application went final on 1/6)... Ding received at 1:38PM EST via "status update" email. I thought this was one of my better applications too. Ugh!

Anyway, best of luck to all those waiting to hear back!

i interviewed last friday and my interviewer has yet to submit feedback...waiting is so painful!! i hope he doesn't forget about me...

Hi KarBare33,

For what it's worth, I believe I read (from a CBS rep) that there is an admissions officer dedicated specifically to the interview process and following up with interviewers.

Good luck!

Thanks Aenigma - it's good to know that there is someone dedicated to getting the feedback submitted!! in the meantime i'm trying to keep myself busy....

Hey all - just wanted to drop this note based on the info session I went to last night:

-even though CBS doesn't have 'rounds' per se, they look through applicants in the order they're received and fill up their respective admitted buckets accordingly
-that said, the 1/6 'fellowships' deadline is quite popular, with something like 1,000 people applying on that day alone
-so.....(straight from Adcom at info session) - if you were to apply on 1/5 you would be ahead of all of these folks when being reviewed by the Adcom. Yep - my app got submitted on 1/22. Yippee. :(

I'm still waiting to hear back from CBS for an int (please please please!), but if I do end up getting dinged and decide to reapply, I will certainly make sure my app next year is done ahead of the non-deadline deadline.

Best of luck to all.

I always believed that presentations are blend of truths and lies and art of presenting lies with truth as a truth. This approach I followed with my five first round applications to Kellog, Wharton, Cornell, Duke and Yale. I went to the extent that I marked my goals according to B schools and not according to what I really want. All five same result - Ding. Impressed by Olin's free application, I submitted the application with all what I am without any lies and what I really want to do post MBA. Other applications took on an average 25 days to prepare as compare to 3 days for Olin. somebody had said well...lies takes time to be presented as reality....lol.
I got admit from Olin which made me introspect the reasons for Ding from other schools... I can find only two 1) Adcom is smart enough to distinguish lies and / or 2) I am not a good presenter of fake details....lol
Olin admit boosted my moral but tooo late...deadlines for all top B school were history..and also I don't have sufficient left in me to again go thru that traumatic situation of waiting. I applied to Columbia with the same approach I followed for Olin, that is, NO LIES and 2 days back I received a status update email. I was so nervous while I was opening the page....it seriously scared me to death but what is found is a status of "Your application is under review"
what hurts me most now is that wrong strategy had kept me away from top schools, Columbia I my last and only chance because I can't wait for another year

I wonder if it would have been advantageous to interview before Super Saturday.

With so many people interviewing on that Saturday, I'd think that your file goes down further in the pile, and you potentially have more people to compete against for a seat in the class.

I interviewed 1/28 and am still waiting... I think prior to Super Saturday everyone was hearing within 2 weeks, usually within 1, but I'm sure Super Saturday will push things back a bit moving forward.

I know this has probably already been asked, but I'm sick as a dog and searching through this thread is the last thing I want to do, so please bear with me...

How long (ish) have people had between when their interview went complete and when they got a final decision from Columbia?

My interview went complete last Thurs (2/4).

I think on average it's been 7-10 days historically. However, I have seen it take as long as 4-6 weeks. Best of luck!!

Is there still a chance for those who have not received an interview invite? I submitted mine 1/6 (Round 2).

No dude,

there is no hope left, you are doomed... ;)

Jokes aside, many people haven't received an interview invite yet, so just hang on in there. It means that they don't dislike your application enough to reject you! :) Which is good!!

I keep reminding myself of that fact, yet somehow I can't help but check my email compulsively to see if I have any updates. Sigh.

My app went under review on 1/7; I still haven't received any word. I spoke with admissions recently and was told that they're still working through those and that I shouldn't be alarmed.
