well, i have this ridiculous dream of opening a full service production company that competes with the james cameron/jj abrams type fixtures in action movies. i've worked on two different films (which i would have loved to go into in the USC and any of my applications but simply have no room too), and have contacts in military that i've flexed when i've needed to. i've got some other "media" oriented stuff under my belt including some high profile stuff... but in reality, someone like me who's an outsider and don't have the cash, hollywood connections, and "real" experience other than "oh that's nice" type stuff, there's no way that this could happen.

Thanks for elaborating; I understand since I need to make some solid industry connections as well. I'm interested in transitioning into the leisure and amusement industry possibly to work on new models for location based venues. I like what I see at USC's Entertainment Technology Center. However, I'm unsure about how Marshall or any other school will help me gain the access I'm looking for. Very few schools have ties with the industry and if ties exists, it's because of a focus on hospitality, not entertainment. Guess I have a lot more research and networking to do... Good luck w/ the process and choosing the right school.

Does anyone know if USC generally releases their decisions in advance of the stated notification dates? Or should I just accept that I won't hear anything until 2/1 (I'm a R1 applicant).

During my interview, adcom told me that 2/1 actually means thats when they start sending out decisions. She said a few decisions may go out before that date but 2/1 is not a release deadline. She also said they won't release a decision until they have your official transcript and score report.

Same here, I dont get the vibe that the adcom team is as "vibrant" as other top tier programs. Just too laid back I think. Any thots??

Just to clarify I think my situation is a little unique. I have not visited the school and scheduled a visit for Monday since I am going to be in LA. After I scheduled they invited me to interview

Someone on the BW forums reported a waitlist w/o interview decision posted on the site. Not sure if that was the applyyourself site or some other site using the 10 digit USC ID.
