The anxiety is definitely getting the better of me. I just noticed that things have slightly changed under the interview tab for me. Previously, I could see instructions for applicants to all of Booth’s MBA program e.g. If you’re a PT applicant then….etc. Now just the FT MBA applicant instructions are showing up! This is probably an absolutely meaningless observation but just goes on to show what happens if you hit the refresh button every 30 seconds for a straight hour! :D

HAHAHA that's probably how I'm going to be in a month or so... refresh refresh refresh

That's their way of messing with your head!

For their own entertainment, Admissions offices should keep track of the number of times each candidate checks his/her status. I'm not saying they should make decisions based on it, but it would be fun keep track of the people who refresh most often, and maybe place bets on what the highest number of status page checks will be and who will check the most. As decision day approaches and the stats are updated real-time on a webpage, it would be like watching election results!

Guys having gone through the whole process a couple of months ago, there's only one time of day you should be anxious: 9:05AM CST. After that, RELAX.

The absolute WORST thing you can do for your mental sanity is falling into the obsessive refresh. Easier said than done I know, but give the hands-off approach an honest try.

A general question, do they release interview invites everyday? Is it only certain days of the week? Do they come only on specific dates in bunches? Just curious so that every 9:05 AM CST isn't painstaking for the next month (obviously weekends won't be an issue).

That could be a diabolical way to increase yield. "Jimmy over here refreshed 40,000 times last month, while Mary only checked her status once -- clearly Jimmy really wants to come here versus Mary." Of course if it were revealed that this was a metric they used, it would create the terrible situation of people refreshing just to boost their stats (probably culminating with applicants hiring people to refresh for them full time, a la WoW gold farmers).

I think I see a new industry forming...

Did you go to the Booth Live day on November 12th by any chance? If so, I may have met you. I met a guy from Brazil and we talked a lot. I think he applied to the same schools and also had a 740 on the GMAT.

For anyone wondering about when apps went complete, mine went complete on 1/6 (applied 1/3) and I got an interview invite this morning.

Also keep in mind that the complete date is just when they verified your app was complete. They probably print them in piles and then distribute to different people to read them.

I would bet that not all of the ones that are "complete" have even been read yet.

I submitted on 1/5 and my status is still "Submitted" and hasn't change to "Complete" or "Received". Anyone else? I know one of my recommenders did submit past the deadline, although it was still submitted on 1/5.

I did contact admissions via e-mail as instructed in the Round 2 Information e-mail. No response yet...

Scroll through the pg 81-83, there are other candidates in this situation. I think Booth has asked them to wait on.

All I can say they released both dings and invites at 9:05AM CST for R1 throughout the specified period. If the same thing happens during the first few days of the R2 interview notification window, I think it's safe to say they'll do so for the rest of the month.

Nope. Sorry. :-D I actually didn't go to any Booth events except for the admitted student happy hour they had in São Paulo at the end of December.

Hi dalailama, seems like you have an admit from Kellogg and Booth with $$. Have you decided between the 2 ? If I end up in the same situation that question is pretty much going to be looming over my head too. Obv, I am not expecting the $$ in my case. Thanks.

I think the major criteria in deciding between Kellogg and Booth is whether you see yourself as a Cubs or Sox fan? :-D
