If the adcom says interviews are not sent in any particular order - I would just believe them.

Best.

Really does seem random, so I won't sweat it until next week's deadline. Congrats and good luck.

I believe they need to be completed by February 25. However, I scheduled my interview today after getting my invite this morning and for on-campus interviews, there were only interview dates through February 23.

When I scheduled mine on the first day they were released, they only had about a week-long range (through Feb 5) available. I think they keep the later dates for people who get later invites.

Really hope so. Otherwise, those who get invites later would have little time to prepare.

Booth is closest to Midway but flights are costlier...OHare is far away and cab fare {they charge USD 65 to Booth} will more or less make up for lesser cost of flight tkt...

Ramada is very close to Booth and u can avail Uchi's discount there...room will cost u $100/night...else u can go to Hilton {they also offer Uchi disc...}...

Why not rent a car?--It will surely be cheaper than $130.

1) More expensive to rent than other places (both cost of car and gas @ 3.70/gal)
2) You'll sit in at least an hour of traffic
3) Parking is expensive and a liability

Chicago is a big city with reasonably consistent public transportation. Take the El from the airport (Orange from MDW; Blue from ORD) to the loop $2.25 and then take the Metra Electric (ME) from Millennium or Van Buren Station to 59th St/Campus $2.50

I just booked a hotel by Midway for $40. I figure for only one night, the price was worth the hassle.

How much is a cab from Midway to Booth?

Alternatively, would allotting a hour for the El/Metra route be sufficient?

It's less than 10 miles, I would guess a cab from MDW to Booth would be about $20-25 all-in. If you are staying at the airport I would recommend just catching the bus. Chicago is basically on a grid system and buses run East-West or North-South on almost every major street (every 4-5 blocks). It would be easy to just catch a bus (like Garfield, 59, or 63 depending on your location) running East from your hotel. Everything is electronic so check out: https://ctabustracker.com/bustime/home.jsp for real-time bus tracking. $2 fare. I believe they also just released a traintracker as well.

For others reading, El/Metra from MDW would need to be more than an hour. Conservatively, I would venture 45 min from MDW to the loop, walking time between the 2, and another 45 min depending on metra schedule. Of course this all depends on your risk tolerance and comfort with mass transit - Murphy's Law says if it can go wrong it will, and that certainly applies when you absolutely need to be somewhere with the CTA.
