guy, need your advice on my situation.
International applicant here. There are no alumni interviewers available in my city now. So I am left with two options.
1) fly to another city
2) choose a telephone interview with an officer from the Admissions Office

my question is: what are the cons/risks of a telephone interview? Any thoughts? Any previous experience? Will it imply a lack of committment since many in my city who are in the same boat have decided to fly to another city?

Fly to another city for the interview. Telephone interviews are crapshoot especially in case of internationals where the accent might make it even more difficult. Alumni interviews are usually more relaxed and laidback.

Good luck!

I'm probably going with a Tuesday slot to leave room for others that lack my convenience.
@jbharris88
Cheers! If they open that Saturday up I might elect to take that and spend the weekend in Chicago, since I have a Kellogg Interview early the following week.

Do you think it's preferable to do an off-campus interview rather than on-campus for this reason?

For those of you who have signed up for the Campus Visit program (via the link in the interview email), did you get any sort of email confirmation? I am 99% sure I submitted my form, but can’t find any record of it.
I am in the same boat. I didn't get anything back after I registered, but I assume they are "building a schedule" which will come to us right before the visit.

I immediately received confirmation:
"Thank you for registering for the Chicago Booth Admissions Campus Visit! This email serves as your confirmation. Please check in at the front desk in Suite 120 when you arrive on campus. "

The email says "Should you have any questions, feel free to contact us at admissions@chicagobooth.edu" so I'd follow-up just to confirm if I were you two.

This is something different. I received that exact e-mail when I booked my interview. What we are talking about is the optional campus visit you can schedule, where you get to sit in on a class, info session, and tour. You have to fill out a questionnaire with your info, including priority of classes you would like to visit.

No, this is for the daily campus visit where you sit in on a class, have an info session, etc. I have not booked an interview yet. I also did not get to choose which class I want to sit in on but was told to decide between morning and afternoon.

EDIT: I see what is going on. There are actually 2 links next to each other - 1 for standard on campus visitation and the other for preselecting daily activities if visiting during February. I chose the first, regular link which is why I received confirmation and others have not.

I interview this past Saturday. Does Booth update you when your interviewer has submitted their feedback? Then does it go complete?

I received my interview invite this morning as well, very excited! Unfortunately, I was away from the computer all day and the remaining interview slots are very limited...

Questions for WL candidates hoping to receive an answer today: Will admitted candidates get a phone call? If you continue on the WL, will you get an email stating the same or will no communication from the school indicate that there has been no change in your status? I'm assuming that if you are rejected, you will get the customary 'check you application status' email.

No. Not until the final result. But the school expects your interviewer (if he/she's an alum) to submit the report within 48 hours.

I don't remember Booth doing this in previous years, so I can only speculate as to what will happen tomorrow morning. I believe that a number of people will receive emails notifying them that they've been removed from the waitlist (denied), and the remaining survivors will have to wait until the week of March 16th to find out if they've been admitted or not. It's possible that survivors will receive some kind of update notifying them that they're still on the waitlist, but I'd be surprised if anyone gets admitted tomorrow. We'll have to wait and see!

Good luck everyone!

I think there will be a some admits and rest will remain on waitlist. No denials.

I was wondering the same thing actually. I interviewed about a week ago and the status on the application page is still unchanged. I am guessing this is the norm, unless some of the R1 applicants could chime in with their experiences.

Same thing for me. I received the invite last night but did not check my email until today's lunch. I think that there are limited slots available. I did really give up hope on Chicago until today, the last day they send invites out.

Is there anyone here interviewing in Singapore? I wanted to interview in Singapore but no interview slot is available. They limited the number of interviewer searches to 3 times. I might have typed in the wrong postal code for Singapore so the search results turned out no interviewer at all.

I think that I would have to go to Hong Kong. I have never been there and possibly have a hard time finding the interview location.

Submitted: 1/05,10 AM EST.

In the last update they said they were going go release some WL decisions on Feb 16th so that some applicants can get "closure" early... use of that word (imo) means that there will definitely be some rejections....
I want to believe i'm wrong, though :)

Based on the availability of interviews when the invite was sent out earlier today, I wouldn't be surprised to see more invites coming or at least a few more people speaking up about receiving an invite. There were a lot of slots this morning and not as many slots left right now, but a new message: "The full-time program is in the process of adding additional slots. Please check back daily. We will be adding a day, Saturday, February 26th and additional slots from Feb 21st to Feb 25th)" indicates there is probably some high demand. Seems great for some of the out-of-towners looking to come in.

I'm probably going with a Tuesday slot to leave room for others that lack my convenience. Let me know if anyone needs City of Chicago advice. Best of Luck everybody!

Are additional slots for domestic applicants in the U.S. or for international applicants as well?

I visited the school last month and all the indications I gathered from a very senior person in the admissions was that there will be no admits in the mid-decision deadline. This makes me 95% positive that we won't be seeing any admits, only some that get dropped off... We'll all know in 30 mins anyway.
