Just submitted! Glad I took the time to review a couple of times; found some minor issues that may come up and addressed them in the optional essay.

After your comments on how you hate the copy paste I went back to print my app. I had caught a couple of quotes-turned-question-marks and fixed those before submitting. But now I realized I have 3 other question marks left into my submitted app (1 hyphen and 2 apostrophes) I hope they understand its the form that did that, but I am still at fault for not going through the printed version with a fine comb before submitting. So yep, I officially hate their copy / paste now too.

Email adcom and let them know; perhaps being proactive is better than assuming - [email protected]

Submitted my application yesterday.

Although I probably could've done better in many parts of my application, I'd rather not look back and wonder what if.

Good luck everybody!

Got an email today saying my application is "complete"

Quote:
Dear X X,

Your status has changed to "Complete". The next step in the process is to allow for the admissions committee to review your application. All applicants who are invited to interview will be notified by 5:00pm, November 10th.

okay so I submitted my application on 10/12th around 11pm PST, which is 10/13th around 1AM CST. I paid, and got a confirmation that my application has been submitted on the 13th (makes sense). But I haven't gotten the above email saying that my application is complete (and I'm freaking out just a little) ? Anything I should be doing here?

Give it a couple of days... 'cause I submitted mine on Monday morning. I'm sure like over 50% of the applicants submit theirs within 24 hours of the deadline... so it'll take some time to review for completeness (or is this automatically done by the system?).

I just got this from them:

Thank you for submitting your application to Chicago Booth. In keeping with our commitment to transparency in the Admissions process, this email explains what will happen with your application within the next few weeks.

From October 13 to November 10:

This is our primary application evaluation period. During this time you will notice the status of your application periodically changing in our Online Application System . Below is a description of each status:

Submitted

- Once you submit your application online, the status will change to "Submitted." At this time, edits to your application are no longer possible. However, recommendations may be submitted until October 20.
Received

- This means that we've received your materials. Your status may not be changed to "Received" for about two weeks after the application deadline. If your status does not read "Received" by October 27, contact us at [email protected]
Complete

- This means that all required information has been received and physically placed in your file by the operations team. If your application status doesn't read "Complete" by October 29, please contact us at [email protected]
Incomplete

- This means that we have not received all of your required information. We'll contact you via email if you are "Incomplete." You can also check which requirements are missing on the Application Status screen in the Online Application System .
The Admissions Committee will begin to release interview invitations on Wednesday, October 27th and will continue this process through Wednesday, November 10th. Look for an email that asks you to check your status via the Online Application System. If your status reads Invite to Interview, the Admissions Committee believes an interview will help us further evaluate your admission credentials. We will provide detailed instructions on scheduling your interview.

If you do not receive an invitation to be interviewed by the mid-decision date (November 10), you will receive your final decision on that date.

From November 10 to December 15:

As soon as you have been invited to interview, you will need to schedule and complete your Admissions interview. All Interviews must be completed by November 30.

After your interview is completed, the Committee will again read your application along with your interview feedback in order to make a final decision.

On December 15th, the Final Decision date, we will release all final decisions at 9:00 am. You may view your status via the Online Application System.

The Admissions team is here to address your questions and concerns. Feel free to reach us at 773.702.7369 or [email protected]. Good Luck!

Got the same email.

I love how Booth is so organized. Another reason why Booth is one of my top 2 choices.

I got this too, quick turn around by Booth for interviews. Does anyone know (from Booth live, info session or chats) if the order in which the applications were submitted has any bearing on when they're read? It's going to be stressful 2 weeks!

I feel your pain. I had to postpone one of my schools because of that.

If you do not receive an invitation to be interviewed by the mid-decision date (November 10), you will receive your final decision on that date.

Apologies in advance if this is a silly question, but does this mean that it is technically possible to be accepted without interviewing, or is this just a polite way for them to say that if you do not receive an interview invitation by November 10th, you will receive your rejection that day?

Thanks,
kcw984

From what I understood at Booth Live, every admitted candidate is interviewed. No call for interview by the 10th => rejection. :(

Email or Call. Not all people get calls, but I do think all people get emails.
