Congrats to those invited! It seems like everyone invited today had submitted their applications (well) in advance of the 13th deadline.

Ditto on both counts. I hope my last minute submission doesn't mean I'll be waiting to the bitter end of the window. I think I'm getting an ulcer!

So would it be fair that the theory that applications are reviewed in random order is false? People who submitted significantly earlier (a week) will hear earlier. I too submitted on deadline day and went only complete few days later.

My guess is, it roughly correlates with submission date, but there is a healthy amount of noise.

Let's not forget about the sampling bias. ;)

isnt it very obvious that people who are invited early will mostly be the ones who got their apps completed earlier. I dont think beyond 13th Oct, adcom will wait for all the files to be ready.. it must be an ongoing process.. both review and interview invites..

As in.... those who submit early are likely to have stronger apps? Those who post here are more likely to have submitted early? Yeah, no sense trying to get too probabilistic... control the controllables... whatever, I am still going to obsess.

Not sure if it's obvious.
(1) Some schools say that they won't review until the deadline.
(2) Other schools say they review on a first-come, first-serve basis.

I assumed Booth was in (1).

(a) Some schools in (1) review submitted applications randomly.
(b) Other schools in (1) may review submitted applications in a first-come, first-serve, but only after the deadline has passed.

I think now that Booth is in (b).

Congrats everyone! I didn't get an invite today but hopefully I'll get one soon. I'm totally in love with Booth after attending their Booth Live session last week. :)

Hey everyone, got my interview call today (Oct 27th) 0530 CST. thrilled and nervous.... btw my profile went complete on 15th Oct

Wow, that's neat. I'm guessing you're in India that's why the early call (5:30 am CST.. wow)?

So the invites may also come in through phone calls (instead of emails?)

Good luck prepping for the next step!

I submitted my app very early - on September 11 - and received an interview invitation this morning at 10:05 Eastern. Congrats to those who received an invite today and best of luck to those who continue waiting.

For those who did receive an invite, what's the consensus on doing an alumni interview in your home town vs. interviewing on campus? Based on various interview reviews for several different schools, it seems like alumni interviews are slightly more collegial and on campus interviews with adcom members or 2nd year students are more formal. Any thoughts?

0530 CST was a horrible miscalculation, its 0900 CST ... and the invite came through mail ( by "call" i meant invite) :)
