I'm still researching on the school. May be I will apply in R1.

But I am really impressed by their GM program. Does anyone know 'how good is the placement in 'Marketing' from UNC and in what industries and profiles'?

I am a re-applicant from last year. I was placed on the final waitlist in round 4, but voluntarily dropped off for various reasons. I am in for EA for sure this year. Good luck to all!

am in for round 2. I have a friend that graduated here that claims Kenan-Flagler has a strong reputation on wall street. Looks like it, check out these placement numbers I found from 2008:

Investment Banking - 24%
Technology - 23%
Consulting - 18%

Top Employers (number of full-time hires):
IBM (11)
Merrill Lynch (10)
Goldman, Sachs & Co (9)
Boston Consulting Group (8)
McKinsey&Company (8)
Seibel Systems, Inc. (8)
Citigroup (6)
Banc of America Securities (5)
Johnson & Johnson (5)
Bain & Co. (4)
Deutsche Bank Group (4)
Putnam Investments (4)

My other schools are: Columbia (ED), Stern (Rd 1), Darden (Rd 2), and trying to decide between Duke and U of Chicago for my second Rd 2 school.

Deloitte Consulting 11
Johnson & Johnson 10
Morgan Stanley 5
Barclays Bank 4
Citi 4
DuPont 3
JPMorgan 3
The Hershey Company 3
American Express 3
Carolina Capital Markets 3
McKinsey & Co. 3
General Electric 2

I'm gonna say that UNC has weak NYC IB ties, not saying it cant be done, it had and will continue to happen.

If that is your goal, every other school you mentioned crushes UNC (except for Darden, which still wins but not by as great a margin), and definitely go with Booth over Duke.
It looks like UNC is your back up.

Hi guys,
I am still deciding whether. Shld apply to this school.
I chq out the school a bit and it looks interesting.
I am more inclined toward GM and entrepreneurship..
The other schools I have in mind are stanford and duke.
Am I on the right path? Should I go for kenan?

Thanks in advance

KFBS's most popular concentrations are finance, marketing, and consulting. That being said, they are also a great school for general management considering their leadership initiative.

KFBS also has entrepreneurship as a concentration and has a fair amount of ent. electives, so it seems like it may be a good fit for you.

hmm... my rec is having trouble submitting rec form... So Kenan gives the rec a pdf form to fill - it has a 200KB upload limit but the EMPTY form is 250ish KB - wtf? She said she could try to copy and past to a word doc but what Kenan did is epic fail imo.

I'm sorry to hear that. I can imagine how frustrating that is.

I know KFBS has switched to a different application system, so there must be some kinks that need to be ironed out.
