How do Tepper graduates typically place into General Management positions?
By GM, I mean rotational and/or leadership development programs.
I see from the employment report that a large share of the students take jobs in the Manufacturing industry, but the information is a little vague with regard to job functions. Are these P&L track jobs, program manager jobs, etc.

Thanks!!

I know of a few rotational/leadership programs that target Tepper. I don't know what I am allowed to say or not, but they are definitely an option for students here. (I am pursuing a leadership development rotation)

Hey,

I am considering applying to Tepper for R2. Does anyone know whether a campus visit raises the admission chances or is it irrelevant at Tepper? Also, I'd love to hear from current students about the best/worst things at Tepper. I am considering flying over (I live in the Czech republic) for a couple campus visits (Tepper, Cornell, Wharton, Kellogg - visited Columbia and NYU last year) and am trying to figure out whether the time is better invested in a campus visit or studying for GMAT / essay drafting...

Thanks!

My personal two cents on a campus visit is that it is never a bad thing. If you visit you will get a chance to meet the admissions team and make some in-person impressions. I don't think it will make your admission chances better or worse, but it can help you frame your essays/story.

As for the best/worst things? For me personally, the best thing has to be just the overall quality of the program. Before attending I didn't know what to expect - I had visited a lot of schools and knew there was a big quality difference out there, but I have been floored by the overall quality of resources available here. I have so much support with academics and career (dedicated mentors for both) among other areas that I am not able to utilize everything to its fullest, not by a wide margin.

The worst would be tough - we just went through a rainy week, and that is probably the biggest challenge so far (I am not a rainy-day person). It's beautiful here today though. :)

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it. Could you please comment on the community and student life at Tepper in general (collaboration, partying etc.)? Also, what is Pittsburgh like? It is one of the cities I haven't visited in the USA yet so that'd be a big unkown for me, too... :)

There are quite a few companies which recruit Tepper students for Leadership rotation programs. Some of my classmates went to GE,Liberty Mutual etc to name a few. AFAIK, you don't get P/L responsibility right out of the school.

Just wanted to add in about the fence.

:D

Just a little update on the fence. The college of Fine Arts students are building some sort of wooden structure for the fence. If you see students doing wood work around the fence,it is probably them. It is part of their curriculum project.

Do re-applicants need to fill out a different application form? I read the instructions, and it states that re-applicants dont need to fill out another application form. Also, that re-appplicants need to send new essays and other documents. My concern is who should these documents be sent to? What about the extra recommendation, should my recommender email it to the Admissions?

If anybody has any idea over re-application to Tepper, please share.

AFAIK, all the essays/recs should be sent to the adcom. A member of Tepper adcom is on GC. You can contact him. Good luck!

What is AFAIK? By the way, thanks for responding. I was able to get an answer from Tepper Admissions.
