Considering I live couple of blocks from the school, I had already scheduled an interview for next week but received an invite as well. I submitted my application on the 23rd. Also, I'd be happy to answer question about CMU/Pittsburgh for people people planning visits. I am CMU alum and been living in Pittsburgh for the past 6 years.

Congrats on the interviews everyone. If you don't have one yet, don't worry. Last year I was a few weeks after submission before I heard a peep. (once again, keep in mind I have no idea what they are doing in admissions this year)

I have already schedule an interview for Nov 1st, but also submitted application on 24th. Does that mean, I will be in a better position if I still get an interview invite???

Not really sure. I doubt it matters though. It's possible you'll might it later next week or they knew you had already scheduled a visit. I scheduled mine pretty late, on 25th, 2 days after submitting my application.

It seems all the threads are down this year. Hopefully that means positive things for this year's applicants.

I hope that too. But at least if people would have posted whether they could an interview invite, it would give a tentative idea of the number of people getting interviewed.
