question here regarding the GPA: they ask to report your grades on a 4.0 scale. However, there are some systems in which there is no way no make the conversion.

Let me ask to estimate: which will be the GPA for a top 10%?

I used my class topper's GPA to calculate my normalized GPA. (Example: ((MyGPA/TopperGPA) * 4.0)
But then in my school, topper's GPAs were public information.

Whatever calculation you use, spell it out in your optional essay.

Congrats losttraveler! Do you mind sharing when you applied, when the application went under review and when you got the invite?

got the call last Thursday at night for J term. they waited 20+days after interview to admit me. so for those who are waiting, don't worry. I asked some detailed questions to the adcom director:

What's the usual timeline? 8-12 weeks (obvious). If someone's really strong the'll move that up.

They look for a balance in the applications, and seldom go out of their score range. I have a really low GPA (well below 3), and that was the biggest concern for my app. Luckily my 740 GMAT somewhat compensated (and have a good excuse.)Then then look at your work experience.

Good luck everyone!

Mine is set for this saturday. Kinda nervous... Am I right in saying that roughly 50% of interviewees get accepted/denied?

Take it with a grain of salt... businessweek shows the stats for CBS @ 27% of all applicants are interviewed and 15% are admitted. That would mean roughly 55% of interviewed applicants are admitted. I don't know how this breaks down if you compare ED vs RD1 etc. Either way, I'm with you... I'm nervous but excited.

Hi lotstraveler! Do you think that info (27% interviewed - 15% admitted) is reliable? The school does not release the number of applicants it interviews... I am asking because I have an interview on Friday hehehe. Did you find info on this anywhere else? Thanks!!! :-D

At a CBS info-session last week, they did mention that under 30% of applicants are interviewed.
